Worth a Visit.
Played here on the 17th October 22 and would say that it was enjoyable. The flags were in some scary positions. Just miss and boom its gone. Nice holes with lots of approach play having to make sure you hit the green as most holes have a few bunkers short and front of the green.Reviewer Rating

On the whole a good course but I did have some complaints.
1. ?35 for a buggy with no GPS or ball/club cleaner or USB ports.
2. No ball cleaners on tees.
3. No bells on blind holes, and there are several.
Course was not busy so pace of play was not compromised.
Greens were very good and consistent across all 18 holes
Fairways were also good but first cut is too long. I was told that this is deliberate as there are not many hazards on the course.
Some tee boxes also needed cutting
Staff were very friendly.
Halfway house and bar looked very good but I did not use.
There is a putting green and a chipping area.
A couple of practise nets near the 1st Tee.

Loads of work going on on the facilities which I?ll look forward to seeing on my next visit.

The Astbury - Golfing heaven?
The only slight downside to my 27 holes on the day was that we chose the hottest day of the year so far and it hit 32.5c and there isn't really much shade on the course! The course is well laid out and extremely well manicured. The greens are quick and true (they were ironing the 18th as we arrived!) There are some cracking holes spread out around the 18 holes with the 18th being a shortish par 3 with all carry over a lake. The flag appeared to be about a yeard on from where we looked so it was brave to take it on!
The fescue though looking wispy just gobbled up the balls if you ran offline or through the fairway. Accuracy very definitely helped. The greens had been baked a bit after 5 days of 30c+ and perhaps could have been watered a bit as holding the balls on them was not the easiest task.
It is quite a long course to walk and as much of the walking between holes is on buggy paths it does tire out your feet. If you are doing more than 18 holes I would strongly suggest taking one of the buggies that were available.
Because there are no members pace of play is very good and Societies are definitely welcome. The bacon roll to start the day was excellent, and the coffee even better! We had Sandwiches and chips for lunch and this was more than adequate as we still had 18 holes to play.
If I have to be picky, I wasn't so impressed by the bunkers as some had a lot of fluffy sand and others were very sparse with gritty sand, but it was my fault for getting in them so can't really complain.
The course is kept immaculate and there are no bins to be seen anywhere so you take home what you came with, and to be honest it was spotless. I can't recall any ball washers on the course but may just not have seen them as the ball was never dirty!
Most of the sprinkler heads on the fairways have a yardage marked on them as well as the discs in the fairway.
Would I go back? Oh yes definitely, might find a slightly cooler day though, or use a buggy failing that, but I will definitely be back.

Just a few negatives! There are no ball washers or benches. This may sound petty but at this time of year it's a bit muddy in places and there are no buggies. I suffer with a bad back and need to rest now and again. They have spent a lot on making the tee's look nice but no hole layout maps. My mate reckons it so they can flog the map books in the golf shop.
Overall this is a nice course and will definitely play again.
