What the club says: The course has been designed to flow with the natural contours of the land, the greens being constructed to USGA specification and strategically placed pot bunkers, St Andrews style double greens, water features make for an exciting layout and superb panoramic views.

The course has been shaped, to allow each hole to have an individual character with water and sand features coming into play and approximately 10,000 trees are being planted. The backdrop on one side of the course is a view looking out over the moors and the other looking over Plymouth and out to sea.

I have played this recently, I was impressed by what was on offer. New to the area and looking at courses to join as a member. It was tight and long which was challenging but I really did enjoy it. The 13th hole is amazing and I did bottle it! haha. Shot a respectable 82 and that was because I got a 5 on that hole. I do find it bizarre from the negative reviews, nice course and of course will mature over time. Fantastic views over Plymouth, thoroughly enjoyed.

Played Boringdon last week, the improvements just keep on coming. I was amazed at the quality of the fairways and greens after such a harsh winter. New signage, new driving range, practice green and a lovely new bar have made this a superb day out. I think the views though are great however with the course being on high ground mean the wind adds to the challange and the par 3 13th over water make this a tough round when the sun isn't shining.

Played the course for the first time and really enjoyed. It's a fairly new course and still needs a few areas to be finished, but great layout. Amazing 13th hole, which is an island green although wish I had hit 1 extra club. Played with a member for just £15....bargain.

Well lots of interesting reviews here recently and it’s funny how similar they are and I guess it’s easy to say whatever you want when you hide behind a screen name!!!
I know at least one review is by a member of another club who has never even played the course and I suppose there is always jealousy of successful businesses.
I’ve been a member at Boringdon for 3 years now and for a new course it’s in fantastic condition and being improved daily, which is why I guess it’s been picked for the Devon Girls and Boys Championships and the Devon Open this year. Yes the club might be a little more relaxed than some “traditional” clubs that are dying, but would a course/club as bad as these fake reviews really have increased their membership by over 100 in the last few months to over 650 members??

Played here for the first time in a society and was very impressed with the course and club house. We paid £29.95 for coffee and bacon rolls, 18 holes and a roast (on a Saturday afternoon) The course was in really good condition and very testing as the greens had a links feel to them. All the staff made us very welcome and the food will be great. Already re booked for later in the year.

I have just joined Boringdon Park Golf Club after learning to play on a local 9 hole course and am delighted with my first months membership. The course is great and very challenging for a novice golfer like me and I was surprised to see some negative reviews. I have only played 5 other local courses, but in my opinion this is the best and very welcoming, which is exactly what a new golfer needs and I look forward to getting more involved in the club.

Played on a Twilight green fee for just £15. Course is pretty new, but in good condition and will be one of the best around. Amazing views from just about every hole. Will be back soon!

I enjoyed playing the course and found the layout interesting with great views of the Plymouth area. Although it is still new it is maturing and the overall condition has improved year on year. The food after my game was excellent and the overall day was great value for money. I would recommend it to any level of golfer. In my opinion a fantastic venue for social and golf alike.

Can't be as bad as some reviews are stating, there are over 550 members( more than any other local club). The course has also hosted Devon county matches and this year will be hosting the Devon county boys & girls championship. It's a bit harsh to pick a course to pieces during the wet and cold winter months, I'm sure no course is looking its best. The course has no temp greens and very few temp tees.

maturing golf course ,very hard to play and long.if the wind is up you will feel like on a links course....the trees are still far away from grown so the tee shots aren't so intimidating, but if your natural shape is the draw ,you'll find yourself in trouble nearly on every shots, because most of the fairways slope from right to left.on the other side the fairways are big enough to old a straight shot.I like this course and I'm a member and the only hole that I don't like playing is the 4th especially now that they've decide to bring the fairway even more to the right ,making almost impossible keeping the ball on it because of the right to left slope....other than that I think that this golf course is going to be one of the nicest around.

Peter P rated 2 out of 5 - Oct 15 2012
The course is still a work in progress and is very exposed through most holes as the trees are still saplings. It means that tee shots aren't too intimidating, but the sloping fairways will still often punish a drive straight down the middle. As a high handicapper, this was frustrating at times. Being exposed and on the top of a hill, the wind was just as much a factor too and I needed all of my hcp shots and then some. There's quite a few blind tee shots where course knowledge can make or break a scorecard, but the signature 13th is a great little hole that anyone can have a fair go at. Although the course still has a lot of maturing to do, there are some scrappy bits that really could be addressed now and make it look a bit cheap in places. The greens were in fair condition, rolled well and were very firm. Getting a ball to stop with anything longer than a wedge was a real challenge. Overall, it was an ok track and one that I'd like to see when it's matured a lot more, but I can't imagine I'll go back regularly. I played as a member's guest so VFM was great! I played Boringdon park for the first time in there 3 man team open event this Sunday. On coming across this review site, it is hard to believe some of these people have played the same course I did. The only thing I do agree with is that the course is very long and tight. Overall the course is very good, good greens, friendly members and nice food. Maybe I just played Boringdon on a good day?. Just to mention, the 13th hole par3 island green 200yards, amazing hole!.
