Not great

Played Boringdon park today, not what I expected at all! I was once a member that left 7 years ago and played it once or twice a year since. I have watched the course come on leaps and bounds over the years. Pre covid it was the best I had seen it, probably one of the best in this part of Devon. But now it’s like I’ve gone back in time. Scruffy is what I would call it. Very much a pay and play venue again now. Such a shame as I really thought you have made it! Up to the standards of the big established clubs around you. Needless to say I shall not becoming a member again anytime soon????

Poor golf course

The course is looking tired, matts placed in any old position, most of the pins are on slopes or back of the greens.
The pro was less then helpful when we asked for our money back. Never ever again.

Poor Boringdon pk

As a frequent player at Boringdon pk Saltram course,I am shocked at the decline of the course condition and quality! WINTER MAT ON PATHS?!?! that are no where near level, just chucked down in a anywhere will do vibe, then I was instructed by a rude hi-viz chap on the first tee to drive our trolleys over the mats. How the pro or the green keeping staff think these mats are at a high enough standard for them to approve and charge a full green fee is beyond me! The course had been given a crew cut, no rough no trees no features, When these issues was mentioned to the shop staff, all we received was a shrugged shoulder. On top of all this it was a 4hr 45min a round!! Held up by what I can only say was 3 golfers that have never hit a ball in their lives and they looked like they had just left a nightclub looking at the state of them. Boringdon pk have let their standards drop significantly over the years, course set up very poor, course conditions very poor. Staff couldn’t care. I’m not sure if it’s lack of investment or staffing quality but something is very wrong. My overview is Boringdon Pk is becoming a quick buck pay and play course for the casual golfer who don’t care or don’t know what a decent course is. Sorry Boringdon I will be taking my business else where, which is a shame because you had potential.

Was a member here for about 2-3 years and have enjoyed some fantastic times. Unfortunately earlier this year Boringdon Park suffered excessive damage to 14 of their greens. Leaving them unplayable and members unable to play qualifying comps. (reason i left).\The course a present is undergoing lots of intrusive work. building secondary greens on all damaged holes, making the round very unpleasant.\On a plus side the food and social side of this club is fantastic. \\Its just a shame the course is unplayable.

Great challenge

A great course layout with some stunning holes.
Unfortunately on this occasion the course wasn't at its best.
Every tee was a mat, some positioned in the middle of paths and not many were level - I understand and accept some mats at this time of year, but they were very poor.
Most greens were in a poor condition with tyre marks/grooves greatly affecting the roll of the ball.
As I previous member of this club, I know how good this course has been.

Was ruined by the enforcer person coming around on his buggy 3-4 times in the first two hours telling us to hurry up and to keep up with a two ball when we were a four.

A bit disappointed. It had been very wet and the course was understandably stodgy. My main issue was that the tees were a mess and they couldn't change to the mats because they were in such poor condition. Many of them overgrown with grass and unkempt! On a number of holes we chose just find a patch of grass near the tees to tee off from. Unacceptable. Sort the mats out!

Greens were far too heavily sanded. Not a great putting service. The first buggy ran out of battery by the 10th, the second had a dodgy brake when parked.

The course is still a work in progress and is very exposed through most holes as the trees are still saplings. It means that tee shots aren't too intimidating, but the sloping fairways will still often punish a drive straight down the middle. As a high handicapper, this was frustrating at times. Being exposed and on the top of a hill, the wind was just as much a factor too and I needed all of my hcp shots and then some. There's quite a few blind tee shots where course knowledge can make or break a scorecard, but the signature 13th is a great little hole that anyone can have a fair go at. Although the course still has a lot of maturing to do, there are some scrappy bits that really could be addressed now and make it look a bit cheap in places. The greens were in fair condition, rolled well and were very firm. Getting a ball to stop with anything longer than a wedge was a real challenge. Overall, it was an ok track and one that I'd like to see when it's matured a lot more, but I can't imagine I'll go back regularly. I played as a member's guest so VFM was great!

Lovely veiws over Plymouth. Unfortunately the front 9 is suffering with clover & it's a job to find your ball !! in time this will be a great course but it may take a few years ! the greens were good & the club house & food are fantastic. I'll look forward to playing it again next year to see how it's come on.

Very busy

The course was ok, greens where to a high standard, but the course is a bit of a pitch and putt feeling to it, the worst thing was being hurried by a Marshal who was expecting our 4 ball to keep up with the 2 ball in front of us, 3 times he came around so a waste of ?45 each we were not happy.
