Was not a fan of this course, condition was good but to many blind shots and one hole even had the rough cut in to the fairway when it was a blind tee shot. Bunkers were poor as well. Great food at the clubhouse.

Greens in good condition, course very wet and quite a bit of GUR around the greens. Some slow players, but allowed to play through. Very friendly pro shop.

This course is owned by the Members and the Barnet council, and so you can have public days on this course when it can be very crowded. It is a mixture of good rolling parlkand with really good turf and green quality, and some waterlogged london clay. It sits right on the main boundary of this plauging London Geology, and hence the course can suffer in consistancy of playing either bone hard or waterlogged, and this can vary on a hole by hole basis. Please however read on as this course has been a qualifying course for the regional Pros for the British Open, so the greens are excellant especially in May June and July. Its a really good undulating course, but did suffer from some tinkering of design and some loss of Trees in the 1970's and 80's. I have played it many times, and i still love playing the 1st 5 holes out and from the 13th home. These holes remind me of Berkhampstead. Little bunkering, but who needs it when you have grass bunkers and great architecture which can lull you in distance deceptions like the par 5 13th, and the 18th 472 yards par 4 with a 4 iron 2nd over the big banked ditch over water and the big trees over hanging left and right. Yes I did hit it and got a 4 and thought i really did deserve a 3 and place in the final open qualifying. A really good test let down by a few holes, and some variable drainage issues. The clubhouse is really good, but not sure they like public, as they have a seperate cafe and big pro shop for them, no real close practice facilities. Dont play on public days as its crowded and you will get frustrated unless you have the patience of a Taxi driver. Also dont play in the winter as you will loose your balls in plugged lies and your triusers to water staining and mud.Reviewer Rating

Nice course
Very enjoyable course to play despite a lot of standing water and very soggy patches. Greens in good condition but bunkers more like ground under repair! Very attractive outlook from many tee boxes - a definite “one to play”Staff excellent - very friendly and efficient
