Facilities: Driving range, Golf clubs for hire, Golf buggies for hire, Golf pro shop, Changing rooms, Golf clubhouse, Bar, Food available, golf course.

Location: Leave the airport and drive for approximately 3 kilometers until you see signs for Faro and Portimão. Turn right towards Portimão. This will bring you to the main coast road - EN 125. Continue for approximately four kilometers until you see signs for Loulé and Portimão. Turn right towards Portimão and continue straight ahead for approximately 3 kilometers. You will then see a billboard for Quinta do Lago on your left and São Lourenço church on your right. Turn right, following the sign to Almancil. Drive for a further two to three kilometers until you reach Almancil. When you get to Almancil, you will see a sign for Quinta do Lago. Turn left at the second set of traffic lights. After approximately 500 meters you will come to a fork in the road and will see a sign for Quinta do Lago. Take the left fork, passing a golf shop on your right. Carry straight on for another two kilometers until you come to a roundabout. This is the entrance to Quinta do Lago. Continue straight ahead, passing five more roundabouts until you reach the end of Quinta do Lago. The beach car park will be in front of you and the hotel is on your right.

What the club says: The terrain is superb and typical of the area, sandy and littered with umbrella pines trees. In the spring, the rough is covered with a blanket of wild flowers, heather and gorse. The Fairways and tees are covered with Bermuda hybrid with a cool season mixture of grasses, which provides year-round, top quality swards. The greens are sown with Creeping Bentgrass Penncross, giving a fast, true putting surface, and which provide good all-year round putting surfaces. The bunkering is incomparable, both on the fairways and surrounding the greens and gives the course an advantage over many of similar quality and design.

Love coming back to QDL I have been playing well but when your nt on your game this course will punish you. The course was a bit tired due to the recent very hot weather but the greens rams true. lovely day one day I will get it right.

Played this course with 3 mates as the last game of our 3 day trip. One word: Fantastic. Greens were the best we played on, overall condition immaculate and we we even missed our tee time but the staff were very laid back and re-scheduled us.

The course isn't the longest and requires accurate driving and real consideration of each shot. It is beautifully presented and provides a really interesting challenge, coupled with some lovely views in places, and is just an absolute pleasure to play. Holes 14/18 are absolute gems - but there is not one bad hole on the entire course.

You feel very well looked after too with the marshalls being very friendly (same cannot be said down the road at Pinheiros Altos) and the buggies coming equipped with GPS (causing great excitement amongst our group!). Great bar/restaurant area too.

All in all a simply fantastic course and club and we cannot wait to go back and play the South course, which if the North if anything to go by, must be even more of a delight.

Had to play the North course again today due to a prob with our booking we were due to play the South but this gave us an opportunity of re visiting the north course again it was a lovely day the course played very well although it looked tired in a few places buggies were great we were well looked after. Tad expensive but I do like QDL. Had a pretty good round and if only I hadn't 3 putted the second and not put my drive in the water on the 18th I might have broken a 100 on a very tough course.

This is the worst of the 3 Quinta do Largo courses and, although similar to the South course it's not a patch on that one. Club house OK although there is quite a bit of traffic through at this time of year.

This is the second time I have played QDL North buggies are recommended simply because some of the holes are quite a long way apart. Greens are quick and true par threes are long and challenging. I am going back with the lads in two weeks time and simply can't wait.

Compulsory buggies when we played, and just as well, as getting from some greens to the next tee took quite a while. Generally quite a good pace of play though, and at least the par 5's were challenging unlike many Algarve par 5's at other courses.

Greens were quick and true. We were left alone by the marshalls, and the par 3 "Hawker" as one of the reviewers called her; was pleasant and not pushy, and the money raised was going to a Faro orphanage.

this course was prob the second best i have played on only being tipped by torrequebrada in torremelinos due to the last few greens on the back nine that were pretty sandy and had lots of repair patches on them. but what a course. it was such a great course nice and tight with lots of tree lines fairways and i had the game of my life round it. truely stunning views and the food service in the bar and grill was fantastic. can only fault it for the greens on this occasion

Nice, but preferred the South course. The course Marshall's can be quite annoying if you don't go round quick enough and the nearest pin hawker can spoil your concentration.
