As well as awesome struggles there are broad forgiving fairways, neat par threes and greens that play very true on this fascinating course. As you cross a stream on stepping stones, or step back to admire your approach landing inches from the pin, you'll find more to enjoy every day in St. Margaret's. St. Margaret's provides golfers with a tremendous variety of scenery as they walk the 18 holes. From the river that runs through the course and gently frames many of it holes and greens, to the rugged farmland that surrounds much of the course, St. Margaret's offers views that the visitor will not soon forget.

Location



Location: DIRECTIONS FROM DUBLIN AIRPORT The total distance from the airport is 4 miles (approximately 5-6 minutes). At the main airport exit take a left at the roundabout towards Swords. Continue with local directions below. DIRECTIONS FROM DUBLIN CITY CENTRE OR M50 M1 North to the Swords exit. Come to the airport roundabout and take a right. Continue with local directions below. LOCAL DIRECTIONS Proceed to the next roundabout (Cloghran Roundabout) and take the R108 to St. Margarets and Naul. After 1.7 miles there's another roundabout- go straight ahead for St. Margaret's. You will see Keelings fruit farms shortly on your right. Take the next right turn - signpost for Oldtown and St. Margaret's GAA. Take the next left. At the 'T' junction take a right. St. Margaret's Golf & Country Club is half a mile down the road on the right hand side.

Golf course review of St Margarets Golf & Country Club

Hard to really give too much comment on this as it was really foggy when we played. Generally fairly open off the tee, but felt the course was a little scrappy given its history of hosting professional tour events.
Some cracking holes - 5th is a tough par 3, 6th is a sharp dogleg (keep further right than you think off the tee or you'll end up in the water), 8th is a fun par 5 with water all down the left side, and the last hole is a real tough hole to finish (pick one more club than you think with your second).

Good Design but course in poor condition. obviously lacks funding... no sand in bunkers, GUI everywhere..general wear and tear....
