Shannon Golf Club
The serenity and magnificent vista of the lordly river Shannon forms the backdrop to this prestigious and highly rated championship course. An excellent test for the great (and not so great), it has been played by many leading world professionals - Ballesteros, Faldo, Langer, Norman and Lora Fairclough amongst them. Strategically placed trees and bunkers combine with the wind from the Shannon Estuary to place a premium on the "shot selection". 6874 yards, Par 72.

For a golf club so close to the airport, this is surprisingly good and well worth a round, being just 5 minutes drive from the airport. Very well looked after course and a good test. Lots of trees to avoid, very little water. Clubhouse smart. Guinness good!
