Despite the rain in the early hours of morning (most areas flooded) the course stood up well and the fairways remained firm. Club house friendly and welcoming. The 17th and 18th are great holes

Front nine very testing, hilly but with fantastic views over london. Back nine much more open, perfect for the big hitters. Greens were excellent, reasonably fast and very true. Course overall very well maintained. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed playing The West, very very friendly and only marked down due to having to play off mats on a number of holes but it has been wet otherwise thoroughly recommend this course and club.

Very nice course. Front nine very tight then back nine can open your shoulders up. Greens very well kept. Some nice holes and good value. can get wet and boggy in the winter.

A great golf course with fantastic practice facilities. I have managed to bring my scores down from the high 90s to the low 80s with the help of Chris Baron. Chris offers an all round coaching experience from the long game to bunkers to on course lessons (which I would recommend). The Trackman technology used in the coaching sessions generates all sorts of interesting numbers such as swing speed, attack angle, ball spin rate.. the list goes on. So next time your watching sky sports you can compare your swing to the Pros !!

A fantastic friendly course. Great challenge for your golf and amazing scenery.
A course so stunning and yet only 25 minutes from the city of London & in London too, but you would never believe it when surrounded by the quietness of the forest.
A must do society day or green fee - I'm actually going to join this one.

So close to the city with superb views and great golf course. Definitely the best greens and fairways around London and no surprise that it is ranked No.4 best golf courses by top100golfcourses.co.uk A great venue for societies and very welcoming.

Quality Course and facilities
Played here last week with my son. Course was in tip top condition and fairway grass short and lush. No weeds in sight and ongoing maintenance evident. Great smooth and fast greens some with tough slopes. (Try and stop your ball on the 4th if you can.)A new Range with Trackman shot info and a good putting green adjoining the terrace. Extensive lunch menu and bar choice. Thoroughly enjoyed my round. A tough course but you won’t lose too many balls playing here. Must be one of the best courses in Essex / East London situated in Chingford E4. M25 10 mins away.

Slick greens
The course is a real contrast of two halves. The front 9 are tight, big elevation changes, framed by mature trees, where you have to think your way around and make sure you put your ball in the right place to get to the green. The back 9 is more open and longer and presents less natural challenges. It is expensive to play but worth it - particularly with a county card - but be warned... the excellent greens are incredibly fast. I have barely come across faster in the UK, and certainly not in Essex. A great day out, pricey (including the clubhouse etc) but very welcoming. An interesting, enjoyable challenge.Reviewer Rating
