Apart from the sheep it's a short but hilly course which will test your short game and accuracy. The pick of the holes are the 2nd, 8th and of course the 18th.
Unfortunately during the round one of the members decided to use the 6th fairway as a practice area, whilst I was trying to play the hole; other than that I found the other members good company

Well worth a visit
Excellent ?old fashioned? moorland course - not over-manicured. Good test which relies on the lie of the land for its interest. Not for the faint hearted if there?s a wind blowing!Reviewer Rating

Not a very long course but very demanding and tee shots require thinking about placement on nearly every hole, i would recommend a buggy as this course is very hilly.

Spectacular views are matched only by James Braid's gem. The course is relatively short but don't be fooled into thinking you can overpower this puzzle of a course. Recoverability from wayward shots is almost nil on many holes, so take an extra sleeve of balls. The layout, set on 2 main hills is a challenge to all abilities. Greens are played on all year and are fast, small and undulating which means hitting the green is difficult and needs to be precise. To score well here, good course management is essential. Driver is not required on every par 4 or 5 and the par 3s are difficult to hit. The faiways are perfect to hit off, with fine upland grasses growing from a spongy base, from years of peaty establishment. The course layout is not the only challenge, with this upland course blessed with a testing South Westerly that turns an easy 100 yard pitch into a nerve jangling low 8 iron depending on wind strength. Overall this is a hidden gem and well worth a trip.Reviewer Rating

Excellent course!
From the moment you arrive at Welshpool until the time you drive away, I have little doubt that you will love your time here. The course has some wonderful holes, gorgeous views, and some of the quickest greens you're likely to play on. Bring your putting game or rack up a score. Be prepared to do some climbing though, as the course certainly isn't flat. It is worth the effort though.
If you're thinking of eating there, then do it, as the portions are huge and really good value. Those we met behind the bar are really friendly.

One of the best.
Immuculate greens on top of a mountain. Brilliant holes, alot of slope, few blind shots. You will play from all sorts lies, up hill, down, side. Short par fours are fun, greens are faster than expected. Steward very nice guy, good food. Would love to play it more, will go back.Reviewer Rating

Beautiful course and incredible views
We came up for the weekend from London and from the minute we arrived in the car park, we received a warm welcome from members and staff. The course itself is stunning and I'd be happy to walk it without clubs for the views alone.Reviewer Rating
