The Riverside course has been designed to embrace a number of water features in a tranquil setting adjacent to the River Trent. Traditional features add to the attraction of the par 69 course which measures some 5,848 yards in length. Each of the 18 holes test the skill and nerve of players at all levels, providing a challenging yet satisfying round of golf with great views.

A good 9 hole course for the average and above average golfer. Greens today were in good condition despite recents frosts and overnight rain.Tees were for all holes forward in their winter position and overall the course was in good condition and worth the £6.50 charge.

Awesome 18th but the rest of the course feels so crammed in - you need to be careful of players teeing off on a few holes! Facilities and the staff are top class but the course is a bit of a let down! The more recent lengthening of the 16th adds very little to an average experience!

New signing & guides are nice. Plenty of bins & ball cleaners. The new 16th green will be nice when open and ensure most look to the back of the green when pitching in and the 18th as nice as ever as the sun goes down.

they have course guides now which makes things a bit easier nice to play over water here the 18th is a good finishing hole for stories in the bar overall very good day out but bring a few balls ...

You go into the large pro shop and have a very large selection of clubs, bags, balls etc etc, but then the one thing you would like when visiting a course for the 1st time does not exist, a course planner.
The course itself needs a bit of manicuring. You couldnt always see the fairway and rough divide. The greens could do with a fringe. The red and yellow stakes become visible from about 50 yds by which time you are reaching into your bag for your ball retriever.
The clubhouse has great food at a great price, and the beer is also well priced. The service you get in the clubhouse is very good.
I would be more happy paying about £12.00 for the round rather than the £17.50 being charged. There are a lot better courses out there for this price.

Far from the best course i've played. The greens have improved alot since i last played there in March but the hazard markers and lateral markers need to be more visable.

could do with a course planner as it is a very tight course with lots of hidden hazards and very long grass in the rough. the back 9 is as good as any course you will play. the greens where very quick and the fairways too. bring plenty off balls!!!

the crown golf society had tornament here. a tight course made for a tricky course. the greens were quick but due to many hazards around them it made it almost impossible to stop your ball has ground was too hard. all of us had a good day with the only complaint being hard greens and above all this would have been much more playable with a course planner which unfortunately Trent Lock could not provide? a fantastic pro shop, brilliant facilities, what a shame just a simple course planner made for a bit of a struggle. with so many hazzards and tight plays you need to know what is in front of you to score reasonably well!! get this sorted and it would be a great course for any golfer.

The course lets down a very good facility. It is prone to flooding in bad weather and out of action, also they regulary use winter greens which aren't very good. It is a flat course (par 69) with several holes with water hazards

Good course - plenty of water hazards to lose afew balls - lovely 18th hole - par 3 over a lake and fountain.
From memory its about £16 per round and they accept 2Fore1 vouchers after 10am.
I do enjoy this course but tend to avoid it in winter and wet conditions. They use alot of winter greens and with it being situated on the banks of the River Trent - the drainage can be poor and it becomes very boggy.

Not the most visually exciting course you'll ever play, it is after all on the Trent flood plain so is flat and prone to flooding and waterlogging, especially during the winter. Having said that it drains very quickly and is normally in very good condition, the greens are usually well kept, not wildly fast, but undulating. No real holes of note apart from the 9th and 18th, both short par 3's over water. The 8th dog legs right around a lake, leaving a longish shot to the green, very satisfying to ping it, and the 17th is short but demands accuracy.
Good pro shop (albeit a bit pricey) and club house, friendly atmosphere

An good relatively flat course suitable for all levels of player. The GST day was a great succes here. A challenge if you got lost in the 'jungle rough' or swallowed up in the water but stay out of trouble and even I managed a few 'pars'. Look forward to playing here again - second time round would probably score more than my 24 points.
Excellent club house & pro shop facillities. Rating 8.5 - would have been 9+ if tee areas less worn or repaired.
