Not in the best condition...

The first hole is an absolute shocker! Terrible tee box, badly maintained with loads of stones, rocks if you go over the green. The rest of the course is margainly better.

It strikes of a course that was once good. However, it looks like there?s been no money spent on it for a long long time.

The course was surprisingly busy for some reason. There are numerous courses locally that are far better.

Over Priced

No discounts. Even on Tee Off Times. Very poor condition course. Wouldn't mind if Green Fees were between £15-£18 but this course is definitely over priced. Not much discount offered for Societies either. Ridiculous.

Over rated. Course not looked after by the locals

Over priced. Plenty of clubs that are better for same price or less. Not maintained very well. Society deals are poor and buggies are £24!! Very expensive for a club like this. No wonder it is a former championship club. Even on Tee Off Times they only knock a few quid off whereas courses nearby like Ascot, Wexham, Thorney and others that are far better maintained actually give real discounts. The management need to take a look and understand what people hate this club.

poor, but what should be expected for £10

An atrocious first hole that didnt really give the best first impression, teeing off a mat amid lots of excavation and rubbish everywhere. Poor quality of tees, fairways and greens throughout. The rough had been cut down at least, so if you find your ball you can usually play it. A lot of non-golfers, so was quite slow. I was told this course hosted European tour events, which must have been a long, long time ago. Still, for only £10 you probably shouldnt be expecting much

Fallen from grace

A temporary opening hole, perched on the hill side adjacent the 6th tee box greets you. Greens with large bald patchy areas, some covered by a blackish substance. The bunkers not fairing much better, their linings visible and falling back into the sand. Having played the course in past years, it was a very disappointing experience. Certainty requires an overhaul, before the new remodelled 1st hole eventually comes on line.

Disappointing first hole playing off temporary tee and the rest of the course doesn't really get much better, dreadful greens and tee boxes needy of some TLC. This course has a long way to go to get back to its original championship quality. Definitely not worth the green fee!

The course was dry and not well looked after. Greens had dry patches without any grass and a number of 1 inch holes were present on several greens. Bunkers had virtually no sand and the ones that did, the sand was gravel like and very course. Not great and not looked after, which is a shame. On a positive note, the staff at the clubhouse were friendly and the clubhouse itself was very nice.

This course used to be well kept and reasonably priced. Played today and found the green fees had increased considerably since I was last here a year ago, £33 per round now I think it was £25ish

The additional income generated looks as though it is being invested in a marquee which was being built rather than the course given the poor condition it was in. Disappointing day overall.

The clubhouse/bar/pro shop
was laughable the staff are as miserable as sin but the bacon roll was excellent
The course
I would say this was one of the worst courses I've played in a while, dog crap all over the place, if you are more than a foot of the fairway the ball vanishes in diabolical rough. Finding where the next holes are is a mystery tour to the point where we even played the 15th instead of the 11th.
After the round we sat around and discussed the course and none of our group would go back even for free.
Such a shame as I thought it was a nice looking course.

Played Stockley for the first time in many a year and was very disappointed. The old 1st hole is now the driving range which was sad to see as was always a nice opening hole. The 10th is without doubt one of the daftest holes I've ever played. I've played dog legs but this is more like a u-bend!! Won't be hurrying back!!

Payed Sunday morning. 3 hours for 10 holes. Beyond slow. We gave up and walked of course. At one point 5 groups on 1 hole. You read that correctly. Condition of greens was appalling, not rolled and old pitch marks not repaired. Bunkers were excellent for December. Tee boxes were mediocre. First 8 to 9 holes are very short, other than one par 5 and par 4. First hole was a par 4, 225 yards. Asked for half green fees back. Manager said no, but did offer a credit, which I declined. Overall a poor course in layout and condition, even for early december. I would not play again even on the basis of the first 10 holes.

dont be fooled by the slick website , this is a average parkland pay and play course that is easy to score well on as it is a fairly short par 72 . what spoils it is the complete disreguard by some golfers of course etiquette and general good manners . about to play approach to the 3rd when a man playing the 16th decided he would enter the bunker to the right to play his wayward shot . when questioned as to why he thought this was ok he said "im not stopping you playing your shot " . another hole i was about off the tee when aplayer in the group playing the hole behind parked his buggy in front of me and started to look for his ball !!

terrible slow play and only 8 minutes between tee times lead to a 5 hr 20 minute round for a two ball which included some of the longest walks beween holes i have ever experienced i wont be rushing back to play again

Customer service is seriously lacking. Many calls last year went unanswered when trying to book a round for a 59th birthday.
Emails unanswered now when trying to get hold of a course map.
Not sure I'll even bother to give them my money for a round.

Played this course yesterday and was very disappointed, no one seemed to know their way around the course and do we're skipping holes and pushing in all over the place, the condition was terrible, the tees and greens are average, fairways and rough are average at best, a sprinkler was left on on the 15th tee all day even when raining! (the sprinkler had a fault but green keepers were around and the problem wasn't sorted) now for the worst bit, the 10th hole! The 10th hole is constructed purely of sand and weeds and is a pathetic excuse of a new hole! I played this course years ago in a junior competition and quite liked the course but it has now been let go unfortunately and you couldn't pay me to return there! Make ur own opinion on this course but please look back at this review afterwards where my points will be justified!
