What the club says: The club which was established in 1893 is 6370 yards long from the yellow tees and is a test for golfers of all abilities. After our recent re-develoment in 2008, we now offer an excellent championship golf course with the finest practice facilities in the county. The stunning views over the Silkstone valley towards Emley Moor and Cannon Hall enhance the experience of playing a round or two of golf in such a beautiful and relaxing setting. Thanks to our dedicated greens team, this impressive course is in the best condition it has been for many years.

I have heard quite a lot about this course over the past few years and me and my two golfing buddies finally got around to giving it a visit.
All l can say is it was our loss for not playing there all those years ago.
Even as we drove in we were amazed at how good the course looked.
We went to book in at the pro shop and made welcome and told we would enjoy the course ... He was not wrong... Probably the best course l've played in this area without a doubt.. My advice is give it a try .. you will not be disappointed.. 10 out of 10 ..John

Beauty of a course...faultless!!!

Played today (Friday 26/5). Made to feel welcome from the minute we entered the pro shop ( unlike some nearby courses). Everything in excellent condition. So big thumbs up to the green keeping staff. I have always liked this course but never seems to like me ( see score!!). Even though I had a bad round...i still thoroughly enjoyed it..Even the 19th hole is in a lovely position. Big thankyou to all concerned with the upkeep and running of the club. Would highly recommend and definitely will be playing again this year ( if price is right). Thanks again Silkstone

A great course. I found the front 9 easier than the back 9 but got off to a cracking start. Course is in really good condition, it’s hilly but a good test of golf. Truth be told it is one of the best courses in South Yorkshire and well worth a visit

This course is laid out really well and in great condition. It's always nice to play on a course that is well-maintained and looks great. I especially appreciate how each hole is its own individual entity, without any other fairways visible. This creates a really enjoyable experience.

good course in poor condition today

work being carried out on the greens with 6 of them being temporary ones and the holes drilled in the others were deep and wide causing the ball to veer off in all directions and to make matters worse we were not warned about them nor was any reduction forthcoming from the full visitor price even when we complained after finishing the round. we will obviously not be playing there this year

Best in the area

Well presented tee boxes, nice fairways, true greens that are quick. Plenty of challenging holes, first nine a little tougher than the back nine. Best course I've played this year. The club has a good size putting area, chipping area and driving range. The pro shop is well laid out and staff are friendly. Great day out and will be back soon

Played on Sunday 22nd May and found course to be in great condition with a stiff breeze making it a good test of golf. My 3 other playing partners also really enjoyed it as well.

Very nice but difficult course

Haven't played Silkstone for about 3 years (due to covid and increased prices). But managed to get a good deal due to time of year. Wasn't disappointed. Course in excellent condition (par 3' tees on mats)
Greens very firm and fast. I like the course but unfortunately the course doesn't like me (hence my score) but enjoy playing it on the few occasions we go there. Would say it is not boring or any easy holes which makes it very challenging. So not for anyone looking for an easy round. Made welcome by everyone we met and would recommend .

A brilliant course with a challenge for all levels of golfer

This has to be the best course in the area. Wonderful scenery with great views from the elevated tee boxes . You are playing onto wonderfully manicured greens which are true and firm. This is a wonderful course and the warm welcome when we finished in the club house.

Excellent parkland course with stunning views

Course was in excellent condition. Greens, some of which are very small targets, run very true some with subtle breaks, others not so subtle! Need to be below the hole. A stern test if your game is not on point on the day, but birdie opportunities if playing well.
Fabulous views of the surrounding countryside from all around the course.

Course in good condition three years played here previously. Need a buggy hilly and uneven terrain. Good food in the 19th with very helpful, sociable staff.
