For a public course you get what you pay for, let down by people not repairing pitch marks or letting quicker players through.

Great little course, the day I played it was freezing and the course still played well... even if the greens were like concrete. Very well maintained course and very cheap... £7.50 before 9am... can't be fairer... Ive played £40 rounds on courses kept worse than this!

This is where I learnt the game.....
Ricky GC is a challenge to what ever h/cap you are....
It makes you think about your shot whilst some par 4's are reachable they can bite back if your not hitting the ball well out of the centre of the club. so very interesting hole with 8 par 3's each different....
The 15th is for me the signature hole for the course..
I always enjoy playing Ricky and now having my daughter playing its certainly will help her game improve......
The club house and facilities are very good with excellent value for money when you come in for a cold beer and some food.
At least play it once..you will enjoy

I play Rickmansworth quite often and its one of those courses that you just keep coming back to. Its short but has extremely tricky holes and lots of variations. There are hardly any level surfaces at Ricky so its a great test of your game.
The staff are excellent. Very friendly and very helpful. Top chaps.
The 19th is nice with good service and a nice atmosphere.
One of my favourites although don't expect a quick round. If its ladies day they don't want to let anyone play through and some of the early morning members are just bitter people. Most members are friendly however.
Every golfer must play Ricky at least once.

Quite a hilly parkland municipal course. The 1st is quite a challenging hole as the distance is hard to judge because of the height difference from tee to green. Then comes the wonderful view from the 3rd tee, just don't hit any passing cars on that road.
The 5th deserves a mention, being so short you could be forgiven to thinking you have a great chance for a birdie here. Well you would probably be quite happy getting off that green with a par. The tee shot is not for the faint hearted & the green is anything but flat.
The closing holes are alright and the 15th deserves a mention, it's time to play back across that valley & road but this time you have to hit the green of the par 3 instead of a fairway, a very tough tee shot.
They have had a Lottery Sports Grant since we last visited and have improved the course quite a bit. The course has connections with the Golf Foundation and is heavily invovled in the development of Junior Golf including a Golf Acadamy where you can work on all aspects of your short game, you can even warm up on the Par 3 'Little Ricky' course.

This is a great course.
It may seem less in yardage as 4656 from the whites, however it is not flat, so there is lot of up and down waking. Yes there are 8 par three’s but they are not your usual easy holes. Very challenging, very interesting and good course management is required, rather than just hit it and get it there.

Nice course but too expensive. £20.00 is too much for this course as its very short and 8 par threes here. Round is over too quick.

The course plays short, but tricky. Branded Tricky Ricky by the locals. The course is fairly average by public course standards, and slow play is a problem.

Good 18 hole for £12, even though it is only 4446 yards, boy is it hilly. There are some difficult holes an some easy as you would expect. Green could be looked after a little better
The facilities are basic but enough, a bar, asmall pro shop and a nice range. All in all worth the money

Was in good condition as always the green were fast and caught us a few times. Always get a nice welcome from staff here, the only negative point i would make and this in not down to the green keepers, nobody seemed to be repairing pitch marks on the grees, which is a pity.

It is tricky - it's not just a clever name.
It's a nice course with a couple of fairly unique holes. If you're a boomer, you'll likely stick the ball fairway or thereabouts on the majority of the holes but if the greens are in a lightning fast mood, there's still a good chance you'll drop a few shots you shouldn't here and there.
All in all, I have to agree with the previous comment - if you can hit long and straight you do give yourself a good chance.

every one says its easy i am not so sure its very tricky course and the greens are very fast the fairways are very narrow and u must hit the ball straight good course for low scores if u do

Have played here several times now and this is a tough public course, hence the name Tricky Ricky. The course is always in good shape, Greens are in good condition although extremely difficult to read and fairways are very tight with quite a few blind holes. Course requires accuracy all around.

i really like this course it tests all sorts of shots and has some great views as well esp on the 5-8th holes! good walk around and some classic long par 5's

Tricky Ricky!!! If you haven't played it before you should. Fun course with interesting shot requirements, great to work on accuracy with irons and greens are usually in good shape.

This a really good little course and was in excellent condition all summer - I think it was being looked after by the greenstaff from it's notable neighbour, Moor Park.
A few notable holes - the par 4 3rd is a great looking hole from an elevated tee, the 12th is a blind 200+ yard (215ish?) tee shot and the 15th is par 3 not for the faint hearted with the geen about 30 foot above you.
