Excellent Track

This is a nice track hidden away on the outskirts of Wolverhampton. Beware trying to reach it though as it is accessed through a small country road that has massive foot deep PotHoles. The Course itself starts with a few challenging holes. Several holes when you are on the Tee you are hitting blind to so not easy. Overall an excellent course, shame about the access to it.

value for money

course was heavy but I guess we are in November. Greens bumpy and not running true but apart from that a nice golf course with some good holes and very good value for money at £13.

We were held up by 4 members who were extremely slow.

Bit damp but a nice course

Fairways are lush and greens run true. Looks like they have a bit of a battle on with drainage but the course was still in very good condition. Club house is a little dated but the course has nice variety and is a good test of golf.

Boring

One of the most boring tracks in the midlands and i've played a few, greens terribly slow, beer and food were good and the pro was friendly, on a par with bewdley pines

Course less then average

Not even in the top half of courses I have played in the midlands, very average layout and condition, members friendly and pro shop well stocked.

A pretty challenging course for a beginner like myself, but still very enjoyable other than slow play from other golfers!

A warm welcome from the staff and friendly golfers gave a good first impression. The course was in very good condition and my only moan would be that there were some very slow 3/4 balls in front of me who simply did not even consider letting other players through, to the extent that there was a queue of several single players waiting behind them who had teed off some time after them.

There was also an extremely loud and heated altercation between dog owners and local landowners with a lot of swearing by both parties, which was bang out of order and very unpleasant.

Other than that I would probably play the course again as it was challenging but not daunting and quite different to other courses I'd played.

Average course. Some nice holes. Would recommend that you at least give it a try. Still a bit muddy in places despite a couple of days of sunshine. Give it a try though.

Having played Penn quite some years ago, I was looking forward to playing there again. Upon signing in, I was told I would see some changes, and that I did. However I would not say they were the for the better. It appears to be have been opened up considerably, meaning that a wayward tee shot is not punished as I found out, still having a shot into the green on the Second Hole. The course was extremely wet, to the point whereby I would not have opened the course for play, which is something that has dampened my view of the course.

Having said that once you get past the first few holes and get to what could be considered the truest more heath land part for the course, it is very picturesque, and challenging too. The Par 3's would be difficult if they were not on temporary tees (Artificial). It isn't a long course for the most part, and a careful approach on the tee will put you in good stead. Most of the trouble is clear able with a decent 5 Iron. A word for the brave, if you do miss fairway in certain parts of the course, don't expect to be scoring well.

The greens although heavily waterlogged ran true, and were pretty pacey. It was just a shame that the weather conditions made it extremely difficult to play a normal game of golf. Balls plugging in the middle of the fair way, isn't great even if winter rules are in place.

I would play again in peak summer to get a taste in better weather.

Final Thoughts: Green Fee Paid was more than reasonable, course in parts was very nice, (Similar to Enville but not to the standard), however I wouldn't be rushing back to play there in the immediate future

course was very average wasn't as good as the last time I played it which was 2 years ago . greens was awful not once did I have a true roll and was very slow . The 4 th tee box is terrible couldn't tee my ball up anywhere as there was no grass and the ground was uneven . I can say the fairways are beautiful but I go to play the greens not the fairways . The lady working behind the bar was very rude and very unhelpful .
