Unfortunately, possibly due to the recent weather conditions, the course is not in good condition. The back nine in particular has issues with the fairways being in poor condition and the greens had not been cut , making putting a struggle. Hopefully with some dry spells the course can be brought back to it's usual good condition. To make matters worse there were two or three groups that were extremely slow and holding up play

As a beginner golfer, I've found this one of the best ?cheaper? courses in the area. ?16 for a midweek round. The front 9 especially, are in great condition for the time of year. Only a couple of holes that were boggy. Will be visiting again soon.

The front 9 is in good condition, however the back 9 is totally different, 15,16,and 17 gets very waterlogged in the winter and some of the greens are rough and neglected.
Tee boxes are bare and scruffy and bunkers are in a bad state.
For £16 you could get better value winter golf at one of the better courses

I have played Marland a few times and you have to be careful with your Driving with the fairways being next to each other with hills making it harder to see the players in front of you

Marland Golf Course

A hidden gem of a course with some long difficult holes thrown in. Well kept and challenging but well worth the visit.

Back to basics

Absolutely bouncing down, ist ever played golf here many years ago, always enjoy going back, greens weren't great but better than some, caused few couple putts, fairways lovely, keep up hard work green keepers,Bunkers were OK, only hit one tho, nice course to play plenty forgiving.

Little cracker

This is a little cracker of a layout. If you like your golf courses wide & expansive & laid out in front of you. then it won't be for you, but if you like them fun & a little quirky then it'll be right up your street.
It's a cracking layout, up & down a little bit with some lovely little par 3's.
Apart from about 3 holes you can leave your driver in the bag.
A couple of tips for first time players, lay up off the 2nd with an iron or utility & play to the right of the marker. On the 15th play your second to the left of the middle tree.
I have to be completely honest, it needs a mow & the greens are pretty poor, but it's worth a round just for the fun of it.
