What the club says: Hurlston Hall is the daring dream of a farming couple brought to reality by the distinctive, imaginative ideas of internationally renowned golf architect Donald Steel. Hurlston Hall is recognised for its rolling fairways, seven lakes, two streams, thousands of trees and splendid, subtle greens. Also notable is the luxurious clubhouse, which boasts three bars and a panoramic view of the surrounding golf course and distant Pennines.

A great design that was neglected for many years and left to deteriorate. New management are putting money into it but as of my last round there the greens are still as poor as ever - time to dig them up and start again perhaps?

I'm a new golfer (2 months) and a member of this club. Its quite a challenging course (especially with the wind and length of holes) but hopefully this will make me play better.!!

This is a very picturesque and well manicured and laid out course. It has great views of the Lancashire countryside. It is a good test of all abilities well worth a look at.
We were fortunate that we chose a beautiful summers day to play and see the course in all its glory.
Just a couple of criticisms. On the day we played the pro shop was being refurbished and was a bit of a mess. Also we were criticised by couple of older players for slow play, despite them never being right behind us until the hole where they had a moan at us.We said that we would let them play through if they wanted to but our offer was declined.
But,overall a very nice course with many excellent holes. The most difficult I thought was the Par 5 11th,measuring 533 from the yellows with a wind back against ourselves and meaning each shot has to be hit from the meat of the club.
