Course Information
Location
Location: Hoylake Golf Club is situated on Carr lane off the A553 between Hoylake and West Kirby, 10 minutes from Junction 2 of the M53 and less than 1 hour from Manchester International Airport. We are close to Hoylake railway station (Mersey Rail line). From Southport follow A565 to Liverpool. From Preston follow A59 to Liverpool. From Leeds and North Manchester region follow M62 to Liverpool. In Liverpool, follow signs for Wallasey (Kingsway) Tunnel and then take M53 signposted Chester and North Wales. Leave M53 at Junction 2, follow A551 to Moreton and then A553 to Hoylake. Turn left at the roundabout in Hoylake (railway station is on the left) and the Club is 400 yards along on the right. From South Manchester and Airport, follow M56 (Chester and North Wales). At Junction 15 transfer to M53, signposted Birkenhead, exit at Junction 2 and follow directions above. From Chester take A540 signposted Hoylake - in approximately 18 miles pass through West Kirby (railway station on right) and continue along A540 Meols Drive for 1.5 miles until you come to a roundabout, turn right (railway station is on the left) and the course is 200yds on your right.

Well maintained golf course. All 150 yard markers are located in the middle of the fairway, sometimes difficult to find. Practice putting green area. Wirral Borough Council run municipal

Some would say that it's only a Municipal but it's much better than that. Sadly, it doesn't always get the consistency of preparation and continuing maintenance that it needs and really deserves but, it's my home course and I just love playing it cos it beats me every time I get a little better - and just a bit too cocky.
For a Council that's laying claim to being part of the NW Golf Coast, Wirral doesn't seem to have understood what golfers can reasonably expect for their buck - sand in the bunkers and a rake would not be a bad start - a half decent kaff for the pre and apres golf would be a real bonus!Club Facilities and Services

Hoylake to me is the best out of three big municiples on the Wirral our tee time was at midday but we was allowed to tee off 40mins early early.Greens were a little spongey but really well guarded. Fairways were pretty open buggies available overall a great course to play.

Having played this course numerous times it does not seem to get any easier very tough test of any golfers ability. Greens where playing really well bit disappointed with the fairways & having booked our tee off for 11.40 we did not get out until 12.30 which was not very good.
Apart from that nice day & would go bck

organisation of the tee off times was very poor, other than this the course was very slow moving but i had an enjoyable day out int the end.
