What the club says: The main course at the Golf Centre is a parkland course, boasting spectacular views over the Pennines and surrounding countryside and offers several imposing tee shots. Three lakes in the park, play a prominent part in every round, especially on the 193 yard 11th hole. Being a long par-3 and signature hole to the course, J. H. Taylor designed a challenge for all golfers across a deep water filled ravine, to a raised plateau green.
hard course but enjoyable

I've played many club courses in the area and this is definately up there with them.
So good....I joined!!! £330 for a 5 day membership.
Great course for a municipal....greens were excellent.

First game for a couple of months after injury. Very hilly course that had drained well with only a couple of puddles and not boggy - trolley was ok to pull. Greens fast despite all the rain, only problem was rows/clumps of mown grass just off the fairway that posed a problem if you missed the fairway. Catering basic but fine , friendly atmosphere with people welcoming. A good trip out.

Course still boggy in places, all greens surprisingly open but woolly. Fairways showing a lot of wear due to inconsiderate 'players' not replacing divots.
just good to get out.

My advice would be to make sure you know where to miss. You can get away with missing both ways on most courses but not here.
Pleasantly suprised although there isnt a practice net or putting green. So a few swings in the car park are required to warm up.
(Round played: Oct 2015 - Score: 83 Handicap: 11.6)
course dry and firm, some new deep rough to watch out for on 8 towards 9th green

Very Hilly course, NOT one flat hole!! challenge in itself. other than that a very testing course with not much room for errors.
