What the club says: The main course at the Golf Centre is a parkland course, boasting spectacular views over the Pennines and surrounding countryside and offers several imposing tee shots. Three lakes in the park, play a prominent part in every round, especially on the 193 yard 11th hole. Being a long par-3 and signature hole to the course, J. H. Taylor designed a challenge for all golfers across a deep water filled ravine, to a raised plateau green.

Very Hilly
A lot of "blind holes" and probably worth investing in a buggy as it is a very "up and down" course. In lovely condition and well looked after,

good and tough
Though course is short it is very undulating with quite a few blind shots the rough is getting quite long and unfair in some places e.g. in the trees when in a stand of trees the last thing you need is to be searching knee deep grass for your ball. Either the tress are the hazard or the long grass surely. other negative is a lot of cut grass in the semi rough left lying so easy to loose a ball

Very Challenging course. Lots of blind tee shots. Very hilly, so you have to be fit enough to walk this course. 4.3 Miles +/- 200ft Alt, 900 kcals

Tough course, with a number of very tricky holes. Plenty of rough and you need to play well not to lose a ball or two on the way round.

This course is not for the fainthearted. Very hilly and lots of greens cannot be seen from the tee. However the greens and fairways are in good condition seeing that it is a municipal course and the fairways are forgiving. Green fees ?15.00 midweek, ?20.00 weekend. They have a few buggys available at ?20.00

First game for a couple of months after injury. Very hilly course that had drained well with only a couple of puddles and not boggy - trolley was ok to pull. Greens fast despite all the rain, only problem was rows/clumps of mown grass just off the fairway that posed a problem if you missed the fairway. Catering basic but fine , friendly atmosphere with people welcoming. A good trip out.
