Amazing course, need to play it more than once so you learn how to deal with the blind shots. Must be one of the most beautiful courses in the world.

Golfshake Team ReviewSuperb course and facilities. What else would you expect from a Ryder Cup venue. Tough course especially in the wind. Last few holes are a bit back and forth, but the rest are stunning.

Nice to say, played the Ryder Cup Course, it had a few interesting holes but this course is not one that i have the desire to go back and play. Gleneagles has fantastic facilities. Would definitely recommend.

The course was set up in Ryder Cup conditions and it was a rain filled day when we played it. Obviously a super course and facilities and not really that difficult. I will play it again in the sunshine some day.

Golfshake Team ReviewWell, it's Gleneagles. Fabulous facilities and manicured course. However, I'm not sure if it's deliberate but some holes seem to be designed to be just too hard, particularly the 3rd - a blind shot over a ridge which wasn't helped by an ambiguous layout on the course planner. Having said that the course had stood up well to the worst of the weather that was thrown at it that day, apart from one green that was covered in worm casts which was disappointing. Thoroughly enjoyed the course though, but the clubhouse is eye-wateringly expensive.

This course is easily better than the PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles. It is beautiful with lots of variety on the holes. Unfortunately the bunkers were lower than a municipal standard which let the course down. However it had been raining but surely it rains in Scotland all the time????

After playing the PGA in the morning and not being overly impressed it was onto the kings Course to finish the day, standing on the first tee and seeing the fairway flatt for 280 yards before rising up above you to a plateau green that was a blind shot let me know i was in for something special (or was it)
leaving 110 yards to the centre of the green on the first i decided to go with a 5 Iron to ensure i made it up the hill, even with a club with carry of 190 yards i didnt make it (only just) and then rolled into the cavernous bunker halfway down the hill, although miraculously a sand save helped me save par.

Second hole was a blind shot - see a pattern forming, this is a quirky course with a lot of blind shots and run offs that catch you out, the greens were in immaculate condition and again although a slow round was fantastic.
when you get to the halfway house and standing on the tee its worth having a look behind you at a new development to rival Gleneagles, ultra exclusive Gwest apparently it was a venture with Gleneagles and the owners of Highland Spring water which ultimately Gleneagles pulled out of, the course is there the clubhouse is there but no memebers, with a £70k hjoining fee it is way out of my league, it will be interesting to see if it takes any custom away from Gleneagles.

I have to say that the Kings Course repaid my faith in the Gleneagles resort as this is a truly stunning track, and one i am itching to go back to, i have heard the little sister the Queens course is similar although smaller and you can see her from some of the tees and if you like fast fairways small target greens and mature trees than you need to give her a whirl.

I couldnt fault the Kings Course, it is right up there just behind Kingsbarns

I played the PGA Centenary on a blistering hot summers day 30 degrees + (yes i was in scotland)
This was a course i was really looking forward to playing what with the changes for the upcoming Ryder cup to be held there.
Pace of play was slow as you would expect at a resort course, and although there was space in front never got the opportunity to play through which was dissapointing.
the greens were in excellent condition as were the fairways.

I played really well on this course...however i have to say left me totally underwhelmed by the course.

Now dont get me wrong there was nothing wrong with the course ant eh starter and all the staff were very welcoming, the weather was outstandingly good course was in fantastic condition and a fantastic setting ...it was just.....sometohing a feeling i cant quite put my finger on it Fingerspitzengefühl.

Maybe i built it up too much and was dissapointed, i would play the course again, maybe it was just me on that day but i felt there was something about the course that was underwhelming.

Please dont let me put you off as this is a superb course but.....

Played this course from Gold tees, which was still a challenge for high handicappers. Wind speed and direction were always significant variables to consider. Greens are very firm and the ball will bounce off the back, unless you can put significant spin on your shot. We found it best to hit in front of the green and allow the ball to roll-out onto the putting surface.

This course is visually stunning, with lots of mounds and sand traps in view from the tee box. Ocean views on many holes, and gorse and high grasses abound.
