Nice Track

Played in poor weather so didn't get the full experience but expect this is fantastic in the summer months. Scenic layout throughout. One to add to your list of high end courses to play this year if in the region

Wet and muddy.

Course is wet and muddy. Greens are ok. Course is completely saturated, built on clay. Don't know whether it should be open. Pretty tough to hit shots off of those fairways though some managed it.

Heavy rain overnight made it fairly sodden but seemed to drain well. Course generllay OK but much much better in June when at peak time

Fantastic course

I got a birthday voucher to play at this lovely venue. From the moment I phoned to book, I was made to feel welcome and valued.
I opted to play the Bernard Hunt and thoroughly enjoyed it.
From checking in to the welcome at the first tee and throughout everything was superb.
The course was in great shape and the pace of play was brilliant. We never waited or felt pushed by anyone.
Thoroughly enjoyed the day and would love to visit again.
The only thing I would recommend is information markers on the feed showing an areal view and distances etc

First Class Resort

I took our friends golf group here for our annual weekend away. We have played at Celtic Manor, Players Club and the Kendleshire in recent years but this experience was hands down the best. Their two courses are fabulous and will test most golfers. But it wad the service and welcome that made this trip so good. Thanks to Greg and the golf team for making us feel so welcome.

Greens in poor condition (Longcross)

Having played here a lot a few years ago it was very disappointing to return and find the general standard of the course and the restaurant not what it was.

The design of the Longcross is great, not the longest but with some decent par 3s and an excellent par 5 (14th).

The problem was that the greens were awful on about 8/18 holes. Not just mildly bad, either bare (6th) or with what looks like a disease as strips of grass were laid down (looked like astroturf or a rug of grass) on parts which made them unplayable in parts if you landed on the wrong area to the point you almost wished you could play with a wedge not putter!

Several of the bunkers were quite bare too, and whilst I never enjoy being in a bunker I do expect to have a modicum of sand to play the shot from.

I didn't play well but I was also playing with a couple of other players who are single figure handicappers and they were also as frustrated by the course and green quality so it is not a case of a bad round being blamed on the course, it just wasn't very good on the greens.

Overall for the money they charge (we were on a deal at half price and still felt we were paying too much) you don't expect to experience such poor greens.

I hope they correct it, the course and the setup used to be great, I hope they can get it back there.

Lovely challenging course

Bernard Hunt is lovely and challenging, with good greens but quite narrow fairways. However, it is quite expensive to play.
