Poor greens

Very bobbly greens, full of worm casts. Generally in poor condition and not well maintained.

Poor Course Management’s

Played on a very wet course( which we knew we would get), but tee times were only 8mins apart meaning a lot of waiting between holes. This ruined the round as you couldn’t get a rhythm. Paid £22 at a weekend which in winter is a lot as other local municipals have lowered their costs!

Avoid this place

Although Duxbury is a picturesque course players should not confuse picturesque for being good, there can't, for example, be many course putting holes in the greens in July.
The course is a municipal and all the issues associated to municipal golf can be found in abundance here, especially it's biggest issue bar incredibly slow play and sadly not just by players who do not know any better.

club shop not open until 9. cant get food or drink or even scorecard prior to playing. Greens terrible and many been recently scarified. some winter greens operating at beginning of september. I appreciate that maintenance needs to happen but no warning of this when i booked to play. very poor.

This course was the biggest disappointment I have ever had playing golf courses, It was absolutely shocking and well below the standard in terms of how well it was kept. Fairways are very thick and have been cut the width of a machine to the minimum and the grass left in piles up the fairway. The greens are tiny and also very heavy with grass with no fringe and a sort of run off from rough to the green. Not kept to any sort of standard at all and It is actually set in a very nice woodland and has great facilities but you would be better off playing on your local field. BE WARNED SHOCKING !!!!!!!

Played this course today 05/06/2014 and I was very disappointed to say the least, uneven and uncut tee’s, grass cuttings covering the fairways and greens slower than the M25 to name a few. I can’t comment on any holes after the 8th because by them I had seen enough and headed for the car park! As we were leaving we were approached by a marshal checking tickets, I explained the course was a mess and we wouldn't be coming back to be told my standards were too high? So I suggest if you do have any standards and you are aware what makes a decent course give this place a miss!

The weather had not been great, course should have been shut we needed flippers on most of the fairways. This was once a well kept course very sad to see it in this state.

I had the displeasure of playing this course. The layout is good. That's about as good as it gets. The tees are shabby, the greens are worse and you can't tell the difference between fairways and rough. The place was virtually under water.it was soaking. It's a shame this place is totally unloved it just looks like a cash cow for the council. Very very poor I would avoid it at all costs until someone starts to look after it. Rant over. Played 19/5/2013.
