One of the best in Essex
Simply one of the best in the county. Not particularly long but very tricky set up. Wonderful greens. Tee boxes very tidy. Will be looking great when the weather improves. Definitely considering joining.(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 83 Handicap: 11.3)

Lovely old Golf Course
Lovely true - fast greens. Some parts of the fairways were quite dry. The tee's are in great condition and the course was a delight to play.Reviewer Rating

Marvellous Golf Course
Very well established course (1907). Definitely a thinkers course. There had been a deluge the night before but was still in fantastic condition. Greens were quick but true, fairways were running pretty well. Plenty of interesting holes. Staff were helpful and attentive.Reviewer Rating

The best in Essex
Finally found a great course in Essex. Immaculate greens and tee boxes. Fairways decent, not sure the fairway yard ages were accurate. A difficult course that puts a premium on putting the ball in the right place.(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 87 Handicap: 12.5)

Always a pleasure playing a round here. Avoid peak hours/heavy traffic and you will have a clear round.

Very welcoming, booked online through TeeTime, front third of the course a little uneven, back the reminder is flat and fairly open, Greens in VG condition and the fairways can be be comfortably played off, no need for a Driver at all.

I am a member at Colchester Golf Club. The course is in a nice state at the moment with the average round time being 2 and a bit hours. Come and join here if you dare !!!

Very nice
Course is still recovering from this years drenching. Fairways were a bit fluffy, rough was very tough to get out of. All excusable. Greens rolled ok but some had recently been tined so a bit bumpy. BUT, this is a quality layout, and I'm sure will be in great nick again soon.Some very long par 4's given the conditions. Only one of our group of 38 made handicap! (And we're not hackers by any means.)
