Rate Helpful
This course is well maintained and can be played even after large down pours of rain, just ask the players from Beauchief, Tapton and Tinsley. This munisipal course is a credit to the green staff.

Rubbish course, basically a field with holes. Rough too short. Fairways in decent condition, greens ok but load of pitch marks that haven't been repaired. Bunkers have no sand rakes and ball cleaners have no water and plastic ball holders in them. Staff very friendly though. Club shop rubbish, no bar for after and rubbish car park

avaerage course, in good condition, greens in good nick. 2 short par 3's on back 9 are a bit pitch and putt almost pointless

1st time ive played this course and I wont be rushing back,I paid £10 on a twilight and if I would have paid the £19.50 I would have been robbed.The greens were terrible, bobbly and patchy in places.The tees and fairways were ok and the course itself wasn't too hard so ideal for a high handicapper/beginner.

Course not as good as normal but we have had a lot of rain, £19.50 when playing off winter tees

Think the groundsman had had a week off , fairways needed cutting ! Played twilight £10 was very reasonable until every man and his dog jumped on the course after guy in club shop went home at 6:45

Birley is a nice course with lovely views of sheffield and surrounding countryside. it's not a course that plays well in dry weather - lack of watering facility on most of back nine. being an open course and close to housing estate it suffers from a lot of non payers playing the course in the mid to late evening. though difficult this needs to be addressed because it is patently unfair on members and those who've paid their subs. having said that i played it monday evening june 25th and the course (after the recent rain) was in very good shape.
