Very Pleasant Experience
There's almost nothing to dislike about a trip to Alresford GC, and pretty much everything to love. It's not the longest course you'll ever play, but there are a number of interesting and tricky holes, and you will have to bring a very decent game to get a score you'll be happy with. The condition was outstanding for the latter part of October, with very quick and tidy greens, and fairways and tees that clearly have been well looked after. Most bunkers even had at least a couple of rakes each, and the rakes are those posh ones with the V handle that stops the handle from laying in the sand. It almost made me want to visit a bunker or two during the round. Almost. Instead I visited the trees, but that's another story.
I'd say that the course is very fair, and I don't remember any holes that were especially narrow or tricky, although there are at least a couple of long par 4's that most players will do well to par. There are a few pretty par 3's, but my favourite looking hole is probably the par 5 17th, which doglegs both left and right, is up and down, and just very scenic.
The clubhouse is very pleasant, the members we encountered were friendly and welcoming, as was the greeting in the proshop.
This is a really lovely golf club and well worth a visit.

Perfect course condition all year round
I love this course all year round. Good parkland which keep the moisture in the summer and drain the rain in the winter. Green are always in good condition.(Round played: Mar 2017 - Score: 79 Handicap: 10.2)

Excellent venue and challenge
Played on a dry, nice day. Course was in good nick despite recent rain. Grass tees clearly well-maintained after winter, fairways in good order, greens very fast and require a steady short game. Very enjoyable visit and good value too.Reviewer Rating

There are lots of nicely shaped holes, and a good mix of short and long par 4's. It's also pretty friendly from the tee, so can be played by all levels of handicap.
Add in the excellent clubhouse and friendly members (the ones I spoke to were anyway), and you've ticked all of the boxes. Highly recommended.

Great parkland course
Played for first time and was very impressed with the quality and layout of the course which provides a challenge to all parts of your game. The clubhouse has recently been refurbshed and has a modern and functional layout with several sets of bifold doorsopening onto the patio which overlooks the 18th green.

Great course
First time round here. Really nice course. In excellent condition given the wet winter to date and surprisingly dry all round. Greens were good and quite receptive. Quite open and parts of it almost have an inland links feel. Friendly welcome in the pro shop and 3 members on the first kindly let me go ahead of them as I was playing as a single ball which was very kind of them. Will definitely play again in the future.(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 79 Handicap: 12.3)

The course itself was in poor condition. The tees and fairways were scabby; very patchy grass, no delineation between fairways and rough, uneven tees. The green had been treated recently and understandably were in poor condition and hadn't been cut (would have been nice if the course had told us in advance to expect this). Lots of uninteresting holes in poor condition and frankly, a lukewarm and uncaring attitude from the people who worked there. Lots of much nicer courses, including pay-and-plays, in the vicinity.

great condition after the winter we`ve just had. We were well looked after by all the staff and finished off the day with a lovely chicken curry. Found the members very friendly and happy to chat. The starting marshal Ray was very helpful and gave us plenty of advise about the course.
