Played the course for the first time with friends,on a pay and play deal,booked on the net. Unfortunately our first experiance of playing the venue was spoiled slightly due to the weather, (it was very windy, with intermitent rain showers,)however we were impressed with the overall condition, apart from the 15th & 16th, (Very, very, wet,) Although it is late November so you have to give a bit of lattitude.The old adage of holes dont have to be long to be difficult comes to mind on this course.There are several holes of sheer quality, with the back, to back, holes, 7 & 8 being my personal favourites.The course needs to be played several times,which will allow you to judge the club you wish to hit from the tee, as possition is key here.Overall a very good track and I shall return in the spring.

Just played first round there with my Son today. Excellent course. In spite of recent rain the course was in excellent condition and the staff in the Club shop very helpful. Fair but challenging holes with lots of water to hit ( or miss ) Thoroughly enjoyable day and will definately be back again. Only £12.50 winter visitor green fees, a BARGAIN !! Very beautiful scenery throughout the course and the Manor itself is breathtaking. Congratulations to the ground staff there and all involved.

One of my favourite courses. Always in great condition, lovely greens, lush tree lines fairways, great views. A lot of very interesting holes. One of the few courses around that will make you use every club in the bag.

The course is in tip top condition and is a credit to the green keeping staff, as during the winter months the river sometimes breaks its banks, but you would never know playing in the Spring/Summer, it has to be said the course is not a long one, but if you do not respect it, it will bite you so hard, anyone who plays the course I am sure will enjoy the challenge. Played this course this weekend (October) and the course was in good condition including the bunkers. Greens were well kept and swept of leaves. If you know the course you could have a field day if you hit it big but you need to be accurate as well.

Just played this course this week and it is in superb condition. Not the longest course owing to the 3 short par 4's on the front nine but plenty of mature trees to catch errant shots with a sprinkling of bunkers to also challenge. A great Par 3 15th infront of the hotel after a challenging 14th Par 5 running alongside the river. The greens were in excellent condition and were a great challenge. Some excellent prices when booked through Teeofftimes and made this course superb value for money.

This Course is a must play if your in Yorkshire, it is set in beautiful parkland with the river ure running through it, the only down side of this course is the 4th & 14th holes use the same fairway and you have to have your wits about you when playing them. But you will not be disappointed when you finish your round. and booking through Tee off times give you great value for money.

For my handicap of 25.7 this course was well suited. It is flat and all the tees are well signposted. Buggies were great - thoroughly enjoyable.Would recommend this course to any high handicapper wanting to learn how to keep the ball in the fairways.

A straight forward affair here flat and most of the holes there to be seen. not very long but placment off the tee is key and with the river coming into play over the back nine, best to stay in bounds. Was in good nick when i played but others say it suffers in the winter. very good value and there are good deals to be done if you stay in th hotel.

always wanted to play here since the day i drove over the toll bridge and saw the course 20 years ago i have now fullfilled that dream this course is very demanding you need to hit straight drives on the narrow fairways some of the greens are a bit small but in great condition if you are a hooker or a slicer you had better take plenty of balls it is well worth the day out am returning again might even become a member here i loved it fantastic scenery

nice lay out some interesting holes. can be tight between holes. used winter offer at £16 excellent value, buggies available but easy to walk.
