This parkland golf course is situated in the heart of the ancient Forest of Galtres, just two miles from the northern section of the ring road around the historic city of York
From the seventh green, York Minster is visible to the south, and to the north, 20 miles away, one can see the White Horse of Kilburn on the Hambleton Hills. The rural and peaceful nature of this ancient forest area, with its mature oak trees, has been enhanced by much additional tree planting. Contact Information

Location
Location: From the A1237 York Outer Ring Road take the A19 Thirsk road going north. Turn right for Skelton at the Blacksmiths Arms pub and follow the road past the village green and out of the village. The golf club is a mile from the village on the left hand side of the road.

Lovely parkland course, very flat but interesting enough, some good deceptive par 4's and long par 5's.
Looks an easy course but not as it appears.

Played 3 ball 28/05/11, have played this course several times but thought greens were poor and bumpy, seems no repairs to damaged greens from bad weather. Fairways had many weeds.

a nice course, in a nice location , staff where very nice and helpfull, course is set out quite well,with some nice holes to play,but spoilt by the state of the greens ,quite rough in places and very patchy,but overall well worth a knock,may be a little later in year will return to play,to give greens chance to get over bad winter..

Seems to be a lot of variation on price ! We used 2 fore 1 vouchers and were charged £16 a man (10 of us)
Course condition was good although some long walks tee to green, very American in setup.

Played today and the course in fairly good condition although greens not at there best and slow. Worst part of day was following a two ball playing with one bag of clubs playing in trainers, tee shirts and so slowly and not waving through when losing balls....The club needs to be aware of this or people will be put off.

A reasonable course but one that can feel a little repetitive with its layout. Greens were good and the price excellent with an offer of just 7.50 some afternoons....

Managed to get a cheap deal for only £14 and well worth it. Course played well although greens were a bit slow and bobbly. Rough sometimes a bit difficult to find your ball in, let alone play it. Would definately play again

I thought the course was exellent to play! its quite an easy course compared to most but is nice to play and well kept! most of the pa 4s are quite short so arnt 2 difficult to par if your hitting straight! i Was very happy with everything overall, is one of the best value for money courses i have played on and have already booked my next tee off time again!

This is a well kept course with good greens that works hard to put life into a fairly flat stretch of land. Some greens are raised, fairways have ditches and lakes whilst a few doglegs all mean that keeping straight and knowing your distances is the best strategy.
The welcome is good, with a comfortable upstairs bar over the changing rooms.

this is a great coarse only bugbear was the weather but that got better as the day went on.i would certainly recommend this coarse to anyone the food is the best we have had on our travels and the staff cant do enough for you.we as a society will be going back to play this coarse again.......

I know its winter and its been a very wet one! which has affected the course, we have lost a few days here and there from course closures. However when the course is in its prime, its a nice parklands setup. Well placed bunkers and water to punish wayward shots and some lovely long par 5's for the big hitters!
Good practice facilities, a long range and a 150yd range for using your own balls, putting and chipping area also available.
Small shop with everything you may need in an emergency and the pro has the ability to order pretty much any other equipment as requested.
Club house has good selection of food & beer at reasonable prices and the steward is always up for a bit of banta!
