Designed by a legendary modern-day golf course architect, Donald Steel, Boothferry Golf Club is one of the most enjoyable meadowland courses in Yorkshire, popular with many visiting golfers.
This established course in a tranquil setting within the Vale of York is a pleasing test featuring natural dykes that occasionally provide additional challenges on a number of holes!
Beware the ‘spectacle’ bunkers on the seventh, miss club here and you may have serious problems! The par 3 fifth, a delightful example of Steel’s majesty when it comes to course design, is played over a pond which was originally constructed to hold water ballast for the R100 airship built on this site. Good flat course with some dykes running through it . Reasonably forgiving, but the trees can really cause havoc if you ain't driving straight !
Club pro was a bit grumpy and I would have liked to have been given any info - but none forthcoming.
Bit overpriced for me ! It wasn't a startling course but good quick greens . A bit too much sand around on course, fairways and greens . Other than that worth a knock...The Course

Course still wet but vastly improvedand there has been a lot or rain! Greens in good condition. Very friendly atmosphere. Good challanging course.

This club has come on in leaps and bounds in last 3 years following change of ownwership, with drainage improvments and excellent green keeping.. Flat but interesting and long. Excellent value, even without 2-4-1s. Good value food in club house. Freindly and welcoming staff - no snobbery here.
Played several times through all seasons.
