We played this course in Jan 2015 in extremely windy conditions and it was a very tough test of golf but greens were great. However the rest of the course was a little scruffy. I can confirm it is now in superb condition and a real and we played it on a bargain Winter Saturday rate of 100euros for a 4ball and 2 buggies. The course will smash you up and I guess its always windy as its on the estuary (with a windfarm visible further along) however that added to the drama for us and we played a texas scramble format and loved it. Lovely views, superb condition, hardly anyone else on course, incredible value. Oh and the Club Snadwich was 7 euros and huge so big plus for food too. We will play this every year now on our course list. -All single figure golfers and lost a dozen balls in total I would guess!

The course was set up by Sevi Ballesteros to be a championship course and so it was far too difficult for "Hacker" like me.
The water hazards were very difficult to understand as the reeds were very high and so you could not see the shape of the fairway behind the hazard.
I lost 6 balls, but my playing partner lost more than 10, with 5 going on one hole!
We heard that the course has run out of money, but that is no excuse for the way the bunkers have been left. It was like playing out of a concrete pit.

A very dry course with some huge (and not very well kept) bunkers. Dissapointed in conditions of fairway.

A jewel in the Algarve's crown. Thank you Seve, a masterpiece. Played this course twice, had to go back to clarify that this is something very, very special. Beautiful views accompanied by a fanatically crafted course, utilising all the natural landscape has to offer. The course is relatively new and maturing extremely well. It is still very quiet compared to the overly packed courses in Vilamoura. A must visit course for anyone in the Algarve.
