This is a city owned municipal course and is exceptional value for money at on $26 which includes the buggy. It is a reasonable course in terms of length. We played off the whites at 6979 yards.
Greens are in good condition seeing as this is a pay-as-you play course but I was on my own and they did set me up with a three ball at more or less the time I wanted. Staff are pretty friendly and helpful albeit the starter is somewhat on the deaf side !!!!!
The holes are that difficult and there are some reasonable easy par 4’s and 5’s. The par 3’s tend to play longer than the scorecard states. I couldn’t work out if the measurements were to the front or centre of the greens and my playing partners didn’t know either.
However the biggest bug bear I have is the grass. It’s Bermuda grass and as Texas has had nothing but over 100 degrees for the last 2 months the fairways needed plenty of watering. If you have ever played a Bermuda grass course which is “damp”…go up a few clubs off the fairway. I came up short every time because the clubs would dig in the soft turf.
Anyway, overall opinion. Yes it’s a nice course. Doesn’t seem to be that difficult but there are a few dodgy holes and creeks (you’ll never find your ball in them) and certainly value for money. Would I come back if I am in this area again…at this price then probably yes.
