A challenging course that tests your golf on nearly every hole. Greens are absolutely excellent, the back nine more of a test than the front. Accuracy is important although doesn't ruin a round for the slightly more wayward golfer.
Lovely clubhouse that does good food and a decent selection of beers.
Very good price for the quality, best value for money for miles around.
Can't recommend highly enough.

I played Rutland for the 1st time last year and was stunned by its location. Although it’s a relatively young course, the greens are very quick and true. I regularly play this course and its character changes dramatically with the wind direction as it sits on the top of a hill. If you keep your cool and play with the wind then you can score well. Well worth a round plus a very warm and welcoming club house

One of the most scenic courses I have played.
On a nice summers day there are not many places nicer than this.
The staff here are very friendly and welcoming.
It is a great course and one you will always want to go back to for another go.

Very friendly atmosphere throughout. Super helpful pro shop staff. Course varied and challenging with unforgiving deep rough. Will only get better as it matures. Very enjoyable

alot of ground work has been undertaken over the last 6-12 months and this course just seems to improve all the time .......it's an absolute joy to play even if my golf is a little "wild" at times

Membership not required and no bookings taken, exept as a rough guide for Societys.
Can be a tight course with long grass in the rough.

a championship course is an understatement!! expect to play around ten over your normal score on this course. a fantastically beautiful surrounding for a golf course. the greens are an unbelievable test. fast, big borrows in fact if your putting is a little off, a bloody nightmare! quite a long trek of a course, but some wonderful holes. you really need to think about strategy on this course. overall the best course i have played in Leicestershire. this on its day ranks up with the brabazon at the belfry, in fact i would say better!! get your self a round on this course if you want to see a real tough but wonderful game!!!!!

New course opened in 2007. Clubhouse is being developed but will be lovely when fully complete.
Very challenging with ball eating long grass seperating most fairways, very few trees in sight other than those outlining the border of the course.
Greens are all in excellent condition.
Will be a fantastic course when complete but terrific value for money at the moment.

Rutland Water is a developing course, recently upgraded from 9 to 18 holes, the original 9 was good and now the additional holes just make this course better and better. The vistas are probably some of the best in the Midlands, overlooking as it does, Rutland Water (Empinghman Reservoir)
Course design is really good with some challenging holes that require care to score well, the back 9 greens have some exiting 'borrows' and I look forward to the next visit - I think Summer will be good when the greens will have quickened up!
As for the general reception, this was good, we (six) were made very welcome and all will return soon - Yes you have guessed it - WE LOVED IT.
