Faldo during Covid-19

Played the Faldo at Emirates Golf Club on Friday 15 May 2020 at 8.15am. The Club are restricting groups to 3 balls, with individual buggies during the current covid-19 situation. The Club is taking as many precautions as possible to allow players to enjoy their games. This includes temperature checks on arrival, players are asked to wear masks, and the showers are closed. Locker areas are open though. Out on the course there is instruction to not touch flag poles, and rakes have been removed from bunkers. Generally though this doesn't impact play, and the course is in great condition. Greens were running very quick on Friday morning. I'll certainly be heading back, but I was expecting a reduced green fee due to the reduced facilities. It's still expensive here. All in all a good experience.

Greens were incredibly slow - they had recently been punched and sanded.

Course is good and enjoyable in a really small space. No fairways between tee box and green, just sand so you have to get the distances right.

Enjoyable round

Poor customer service

Absolutely amazing to play at the heart of the city, surrounded by high rises, and at night.(Take your mozzy spray if you do decide to play)
However, customer service not up to standards of any of the other courses played at UAE and I felt the staff dindt put customer first here.
Everything was (almost) too much trouble (although they did provide everything I did have to go back for that hadn't been provided first time (ie water, correct hired clubs etc)

Night Golf

Playing night golf in the city is really great.
However staff were not as welcoming as on the other courses we played in UAE and you didn't get the feeling (as in all the other places) that you were their focus.

Played the Faldo which I think is even harder than the championship Majlis, club facilities are excellent but on a weekend visitor rate are pretty expensive even by Dubai standards

Unfortunately when I visited the Majlis course was booked for a tournament, therefore played the Faldo course. My review therefore only concerns the Faldo course! And while it by no means is bad it also was nothing special. A bit on the easy and boring side with slowish greens.

Nice track. Challenging in places, but poor green conditions in the summer months - bobbly, inconsistent etc.

Course has had a few minor tweaks, with some scrub and bushes removed, and also sand in bunkers replenished. Greens still playing slowish compared to the big courses. Overall still a good experience.

Evening golf under floodlights. Really humid weather, but a great little course. Very challenging.

Water hazards

Very professional welcome and organised. Complimentary range facilities although at night it was difficult to see the balls landing. I am 15 handicap and found the course very challenging. I didn't play well but judging distance was difficult. Although there was course planner on the buggy I found it a challenge to aim correctly. It may have been easier in daylight. We paid ?40 for a 9pm tee off time for 9 holes which was pricey but also an unforgettable experience. Just wish I had played better.
