very hot during the summer and wind is always higher in the later morning

Very windy course more often than not. sand storms are frequent.

The sand is very difficult to play off and it spoils your game when it comes to playing off grass again.

the course is dried out now and there is more run on the ball.

This is a very hard course as you have to play off the sand if you go off the narrow fairways. There is almost always high winds which do not help. The browns (sand and oil) are very fast and it is almost impossible to make a ball stop on the green so you have to try and pitch the ball in the sand before the brown. the browns are all very small, about 8mts round.

This is a sand course and quite difficult to play the first time. You have to use a astro-turf patch that you carry with you around the course for fairway play. If you stray from the fairway then you have to hit off the sand. Cooler period of year from October through January is the best time as it gets very hot. Always carry plenty of water and wear a cap for protection. The greens are 'browns' a sand and petroleum mix which you have to brush after each use.
