Amelkis Golf Club is the most recent golf course in Marrakech. The clubhouse is built in the style of an old Kasbah and has a large terrace from which you can sit and enjoy the view of the course. The irrigation system on the course still includes the original structures built in the 11th century, whilst incorporating modern systems and technology also. Many holes on the course are lined with luxurious villas and typical native vegetation, such as century old palm trees and giant papyrus reeds. The back nine integrates several water hazards such as that on the tricky 15th hole. Overall, it is quite a challenging short course with long Par 3s, large waste bunkers and punishing rough. This course also has some credentials, since it hosted the 2000 Open du Maroc.
