West Lancashire Golf Club
The renowned golf course architect Donald Steel said "Only in Britain can one sample the true flavour of seaside golf of which West Lancashire is a perfect example"
West Lancashire has been a final qualifying course for The Open in 1976, 1983, 1991, 1998, 2006 and most recently in 2008. In 1976 four young professionals competed in the final qualifier at West Lancasire - Nick Faldo, Berhard Langer, Sandy Lyle and Ian Woosnam - all went on to win the coveted "Green Jacket" of the US Masters.
The Club's place in history is assured as it has its name on The Amateur Championship trophy, one of the 24 clubs that contributed to the cost of the trophy when the competition was first established in 1885. The first winner was Alan Macfie a West Lancashire member. The club also has a notable record for ladies golf too, for in 1891 The West Lancashire Ladies Club was formed, the first of its kind in South West Lancashire.

Played 4th July 2010 very brezy but a fantastic day really challenging experience for a high handicap player but was made to feel welcome.

played in march 2009, the course was in fantastic condition and green's like lighting on most but all in all tough course especially with the testing breeze either in to your face,or to the side or even behind were clubing down was a must but one of the Greatest courses round the North West for anyone wanting to play Links golf. A must for any Handicapped Golfer.
