Great course for beginners but challenging enough for low handicapped golfers. Reasonable price and friendly welcome in the clubhouse

Vivary Golf Course is an excellent find, based in the actual town center of Taunton, its course is tight and suits the med/low handicapper, however if you want a challenge, the vast amount of trees offer this in heaps. all in all a great location, good course and very good and reasonable priced bar food and drinks.

Very Tight Course
A good course in the middle of the town, very tight tree lined course. Spoilt only by being held up by a group of ladies who had no intention of letting a faster group play through. We ended up sitting down waiting a good 5 mins or more with 2 other groups waiting behind us. Perhaps someone could have a word and explain the letting through rule to them(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 92 Handicap: 23.2)

Overpriced
Course was not particularly well maintained - fairways looked like they hadn't seen a mower in a while.Quite short, albeit tight - if you're confident with your long irons though shouldn't be much of a challenge. The two par 5s are very reachable in 2.
Greens are reasonably interesting however, although not very fast.

Tested the Pro's
Only 3 of thirty professional golfers (including 3 EU tour players) managed to break par at the last pro-am held at Vivary. Says a lot for the challenge.Reviewer Rating

Vivary is a very compact course with many trees on all fairways, makes you play a straighter game (I wish). More par 3's then par 5's, but well worth a visit.
