Before I played I read a few reviews and I was a bit disappointed. It's meant to be one of the top 100 courses in England, and Peter Alliss described it as England's Pebble Beach. I found the course to be quite open with very little definition between the holes. Ramblers have right of way and I found this off putting. Practice area is long way from the club house. The views are stunning but when I am in the area again I will be sticking to Bigbury GC.

Great coastal course, which like any coastal course is effected hugely by the weather conditions

Wonderful Views

Played here last week - the first hole is a little out of character to the rest of the course than seems to climb up and up but has fantastic views of the beautiful coastline
It’s obvious the course has suffered in the extreme drought we have had this year as the fairways were a little scarred but played fine

Greens despite just having some maintenance were in good condition but not as quick as I suspect they could be but perfectly playable

All in all well worth a visit but make sure you are prepared for a tough walk

Must play

Fantastic course - amazing views and a real challenge in the wind. Beware of the walkers heading to/from the beach!

Very attractive clifftop links course in Devon with beautiful views of the sea. The course is relatively short owing to the stiff winds which can play a major feature in the round. The course was in very good condition during the searing June sun. Lots of fun to be had here!!

Great location with course hugging cliffs and coast line. Some tight holes and playing toward the sea. Greens are small or long and thin and well guarded. Defiantly need the course guide if playing for the first time. Good practice facilities and the pro shop very friendly.Need to have some strategy as just hitting it long won't work.

Best Round of 2016, ground slightly soft due to heavy rain - for once little wind and lots of sun!!

Stunning sea views from every point on the course. Very hilly and the wind makes it an interesting test of golf.

Scenically unsurpassed, grand coastal views including Bigbury, Bantham and Burgh Island.
Pleasure to play but, unusually, there was no wind when I did. Not long but any sea breeze would make it a lot harder. A glorious opening short par 4 sets the tone. A long walk from the 18th green back to clubhouse, down hill all the way though! The snack meal afterwards was very tasty. Locals and staff were very friendly. If I lived in the area I'd join, no question. Look forward to going back.
