Silloth-on-Solway Golf Club
The Clubhouse, Silloth, Wigton, Cumbria, CA5 4BL United Kingdom
The Championship links of 6,641 yards has been laid out over the sand-hills west of town, touched by some of the great classical golf architects, but mostly moulded by Nature herself. The links is an R & A Regional Qualifying Course for the Open.
Even during inclement weather the course is usually in good playable condition.
Hazards consist of heather and bent; whin and broom; heroic bunkers and sandy wastes. Fairways are always wider than they seem from the tee, and having been laid with springy Cumberland turf, invite courageous fairway woods and crisp iron shots. Greens are subtle, firm, fast, and deadly true. Challenges met, visitors can enjoy the busy and atmospheric clubhouse, a meal made with local produce; a wine or beer from the selection at Bar where there is usually also a guest beer, and above all, a warm Cumbrian welcome.Book a Tee Time

Middle of nowhere, but a cracking course, played in Feb and course was in top condition, they were rebuiling the sixth green hich I believe they have now finished. When the wind blows its very tough, we were hitting six iron into 130yard par 3!

Classic Links course which - sadly - we encountered with ll it's teeth bared! I've never been out in wind to fierce let alone played golf in it!
That said, it didn't stop us appreciating what a magnificent and challenging sea-side course this is - picturesque in every way from the rolling landscape to the views across the Irish Sea. Worth a visit despite it's remoteness!

Expensive to play but worth it, great course but brutally hard. As its just off the coast it can get windy and rainy. Dont have to be long but very accurate. Small Fairways to hit and if you miss your more than likely in serious trouble with thick heather to play out of. 1 hole could ruin a good round. All in all a very good challenge for the serious golfer.

Tremendous Links course and well worth the trek to play it!! The wind makes the course an even bigger challenge but it is always perfectly presented and greens amongst the best I have played.
A true test of your golf skills and one of the best priced rounds for the quality of the course.
