Shaw Hill Golf Club
The historic championship golf course is situated in the rolling parkland that surrounds the original Georgian mansion house. The course is a fine test from the back tees for the low handicapper and the lakes and streams that feature on most holes will leave all players with something to think about. The highlight for many is the sweeping Par 4 8th hole, with a stream to carry and a pond next to the green it certainly merits its stroke index 1 status! The golf club celebrated its 75th anniversary in January 2001.

I played with our socierty last week. The course had suffered due to the recent very wet weather (we booked the week before but it was canceld) I could see why it was still a bit wet in parts, but overall the course was a very nice corse with some nice holes.You have to plot your way around some of the holes have water hazards and trees if you go for the big hit.Overall very good...ps I would like to play agian when we have had dry spell.

Just joined as a member after looking around a number of clubs in the area. This is far and away the best course in the area. Greens are currently immaculate. The course is a good test but not too hard for the high handicapper. It is a very up and down course with a brook running the whole way through the course. The 18th is a joy to finish the round on. Very very pleased I joined and I have played with friends who are member of other local clubs and they cannot believe how good the course is compared to there club.

Spent two days here on a golf weekender, the course was running well but some of the local /club members seemed to be annoyed that we where on the course and this put a massive dampener on the weekend as a whole.

Tricky tree lined course-every hole is different and water comes into play on a number of holes. 17 and 18 two great finishing holes.
