Penrhos Golf & Country Club
Llanrhystud, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, SY23 5AY United Kingdom
Although only built in 1991, Penrhos looks and plays like a far more mature course and is a delightful challenge for both novice and experienced golfers. The course presents you with a wonderful combination of holes and some inviting elevated tees. The views over the surrounding countryside and down into the Wyre Valley are quite incredible. Coupled with the ponds that are cleverly integrated into the course, it is one of the most scenic in Wales and a pleasure to play. Book a Tee Time

There is a superb restaurant and plenty of facilities which make for a relaxing stay including a pool, tennis courts, sauna, gym and bowling green. It is a delightful hotel that complements the exciting golf course very well.

Played (badly) on holiday August 2007 on my lonesome. Didn't get to see much of the facilities but the club is part of a privately run hotel and country club and has driving range and bars / restaurants and changing facilities.
The parkland course is in and above a welsh valley and is therefore hilly in places. The first 4 holes wind steeply upwards to the high plateau where the bulk of the holes can be found. The 17th is a 160 yard par 3 with the tee about 160 yards ABOVE the green and nothing much but rock, gorse and bracken in between - fantastic hole though. The 17th takes you back to the valley floor to complete the round.
A good mix of natural hazards plus lakes ponds bunkers and grass. Some open fairways and some very tight - I lost at least 6 balls on this course so make sure you are well stocked. I lost two balls off the tee on the 16th and picked up!
All in all a very nice course and club if a little pricey at £25 a round midweek. I would certainly play again and it is worth playing at least once.

Beautiful day, beautiful course - lovely views, red kites, a real mixture of testing holes. Surprisingly good course. Will certainly go out of my way to play this again.
