Not our best day !!

despite having been in and out of the pro shop 3 times, the last occasion just before we teed off to pick up my electric trolley, no one bothered to tell us we were off the 10th !! the rough was extreme and if in it the ball was lost which made it very hard work, extremely slow, waiting on every T box, apparently due to a Ladies comp in the morning , so front nine was over 2.5 hrs. On the 10th we had a run in with some members , which is then we realised from a sign by the T box we should of started there , we had to let 3 groups through !! so back nine started after 3 hrs.... my rented electric trolley packed up on the 14th !! so i walked from the 15th. It is however a very picturesque spot on a summers day and the course was in good condition

Disappointing

Visited on a recommendation. Started unfortunately with two members insisting they had priority as they were playing a match, and then engaging in unpleasant verbal abuse between each other on the tee. I thought the course uninspiring. The greens were very poor and the bunkers not much better. I wouldn't go out of my way to play here again..

Having been a member here some years ago, our four ball was greeted on the putting green by the ranger barking at us buy white socks. Happy to meet the dress code, but very unfriendly way of asking us to change socks created a poor first impression. Course very slow as a large society out. Has slipped a long way down hill in the last few years.

Disappointing

Perhaps not a course for this time of year.
By far the slowest greens I've played on this year. Lots of sand evident. Whole group struggled to get the pace of them.
Also, why so many par fours over 400 yards (7 in total)? Good drives were rewarded with 180+ second shots, then you pitched / chipped onto greens that weren't particularly receptive and you couldn't judge putts on. Also have to say that there aren't really any particular holes that stick in the memory. The words "that was a slog" were used by most of the group. We also all agreed that they're overcharging for what it is. (£50 even with County Card.)
So I won't be rushing back, and can't honestly recommend it unless you hit 300 yard drives.
People were very friendly tho. The "halfway house" is a must visit. Great food and good service.

on the coast

A very tidy course, only downside was the temporary green on the 1st that we weren't told about.

If you like Parkland or Links this has a bit of both. Thoroughly enjoyed the rround though didn't play my best. Good mix of holes with some long par 4s to tackle. Definitely worth playing.

A well draining course but because of this and it's eminent playability all year round it tends to be oversubscribed and overplayed. This leads to well worn areas around most holes and favours either the very good or playing handicaps in the high teens. An ever present problem is the maintenance of the bunkers. Given windy conditions most of the time the sand depth is usually deficient and is a constant source of frustration. Green maintenance has been patchy with true/flat greens a rarity, however a new green keeper has just been appointed. Despite this, the club is backed up by a well presented clubhouse and excellent facilities. A well presented 18 hole short course is available offering good value for main course members.

The course played very well considering how wet it has been recently. The only issue was worm casts on some fairways, and one hole was reduced from a Par 4 to Par 3 for course re-design purposes (some new bunker work was being undertaken). Greens in excellent shape, trolleys allowed and normal tees in use.
