Golf course review of Mapledurham Golf Club

A course with two differing nines, with the front being fairly open and the back tightening it up a little. I am not sure that this is going to be a challenging course to low handicappers, but it is cedrtainly pleasant enough.

Given that it is mid-December I thought the course was in really good condition.

I found the golfers here to be very sociable and they are a credit to their club.

The course is pretty good and provides vaired challenges in terrain, water, sand & trees.

To be honest it looked and felt very unloved. Will not rush back to play here until investment is forthcoming.

A parkland course with wide fairways. Two lakes come into play on two of the holes with the fairway sloping off slightly towards the lakes. On the back half the fairways are much tighter reqiring accurate driving and pitch shots,

I don't know what it was like before so can't comment. It's quite short which helps me, and the day I played the greens were really quick, which was the main challenge. easy to get to the green in regulation and then three or even (once) four putt.

The course although fairly short is still challenging due to the rough, however on the front nine the course is being ruined by the reduction of the bunker sizes. Although it makes the greens more approachable, it has lowered part of the courses challenging elements.

Am a member of this course and is a good course to start your golf of on.Can be forgiving if you go off line but dont be decived by the rough as it is very difficult to play out of.
