Nice parkland course, some greens could do with some work. Clubhouse closed on a Sunday evening as a little downer

The course is well kept and requires good strategy. On some holes a big drive may find a bunker, or go past the corner so you have to think your way around.
Greens: occasionally patchy
Bunkers: could do with some sand
Fairways: you get a good lie for a good drive, and a shot from the rough or trees if you are off line
Around the green: a missed green won't give you anything you don't deserve
By far the best feature is being able to readily book a tee time on a Saturday or Sunday morning as a non member. The Course

The course rating would have been very good but unfortunatley the bunkers had more stones than sand. it was like trying to play off the rockery in the back garden.

Tees and fairways in excellent shape- pity the greens were not. Patchy greens with moss, overgrown grass and most in serious need of rolling. Vague putting took gloss off great approach. Bar service at the 10th was eager and odd- beer poured upstairs then brought to downstairs hall by fit staff. Simple basic food was cooked well.

Nice long course and beautifully tree lined and so peaceful and quiet. V well maintained. Poor driving range but the course is well worth a visit. Compared to many, v good value for money I think.

Now this course 'could' be a very good one. Japanese owned, very aesthetically pleasing...but that's about it. This really could do with an injection of TLC, not a flat green in sight, but that adds to the challenge. Driving range needs alot of overhauling just to make it adequate (new balls & somewhere flat to hit it from would be a good start). Expensive @ £40 (weekday) a round for what you get. A little bit of savvy with the pricing & they would get a much better return as it would attract more golfers..then they could improve it. Why don't they ever think of this?!?!?!?
