What the club says: Existing mostly in the gardens of Castle Gordon, now demolished, Invergordon golf course is a parkland course, mainly level with open fairways. The course is forgiving with limited areas of rough and is ideal for golfers at all levels. All our holes enjoy extensive views of the Cromarty Firth and the course rates as one of the most scenic in Scotland.
Originally a nine hole course the club was extended to eighteen holes in 1996 and now has some good testing par fours and a dog leg par five. The 8th has a natural pond and along with the 3rd and 9th is surrounded by rhododendron bushes known as the American Gardens, a beautiful setting in late spring.

Fairways and greens immaculate. Green fees up to 30 pounds a round mid-week but still great value for money. Varied and interesting views throughout course. Good mix of links land near coast and inland heathland. Lots of mature woodland. Look out for the giant redwood on the 10th. Go in June for stunning rhododendrons on the 3rd, 8th and 9th.

Excellent value for money. Greens were running true. You can tell it’s built in the grounds of a castle. Beautiful. The 8th over the pond is a feature hole. Not long but wouldn’t want to play it with a stiff breeze. Nice mix of short and long par 4s. 2 and 16 aren’t long but trouble and OB is very tight. 3, 6, and 11 are big holes but very fair.

Met Val the Clubhouse Manager. What a blast. Worth forgetting about the golf and just go speak to her.

All in all, a very pleasant golfing experience.

I recently had two rounds which allowed me to get to know the course quite well. At times, it seemed as though I had the course to myself. The 1st was an easy par 3 but I found the 5th and the 9th were challenging and difficult to achieve par. The 8th hole was a short par 3 with stunning views of rhododendrons around it. However, the 17th was waterlogged in places, there was a dearth of bunkers around the greens and a surplus of daisies on the fairways. Generally, a straightforward and enjoyable course that provides golf at a reasonable cost.
