What the club says: Follow in the footsteps of golfing legend Sandy Lyle who learned his game at Hawkstone Park. The stunning landscape provides golfers of all standards a wonderful contrast with two championship courses and a six hole par 3 academy course.

Good venue for golfing break
Always enjoy playing here as both courses a good. This year the Championship course not in as good as nick as the Hawkstone course. Money spent on the hotel with updated rooms. Food good. Pace of play always a problem but expected at this type of venue.

The Most Beautiful Course I've Played
Probably more forgiving than the Championship course at the same venue, the Hawkstone Course still offers enough of a challenge for players of all abilities (I played with scratch and 15 handicap players) whilst being set in the most beautiful of backdrops.

It's a must.

Both courses were challenging although Hawkstone course was less forgiving. Wish I could give a good review for the hotel but my party were not happy with some aspects of it. 2of the men were given a room with a double bed. They were not happy! The TV in my room didn't work and although reported along with the toilet not being cleaned before we went in, nothing was resolved. The evening meal was very small and none of my party were happy with it. Won't be going back!!

Very nice course. Quite difficult with many blind holes. Difficult pin positions on sloped greens. Interesting layout.

Very hilly course and to many blind shots, very difficult to play for the 1st time.
Not ideal for the high handicapper. Should be more signs to help 1st time players. Course in great condition.

This course is a hidden gem. Stunning layout and really makes you think your way around the course. The course was busy with large parties, but was well managed by the staff who were very professional through our whole stay.
Definitely recommend this course

Both courses in great condition. Played both in the past two weeks. Greens very fair and true, bunkers and fairways well maintained. Seems to be some money being pumped into the place which is pleasing to see. Clubhouse staff were very friendly and food was good. Best club in Shropshire imo.

Ainsley S rated 5 out of 5 - Mar 27 2017

Played the Championship course on a beautiful spring Friday. The clubhouse, and the whole complex is very impressive, although they do appear to have a drain issue in the club house (Smelly).

The championship course is a great test, I found the front and back 9 are two very different courses, the front is more links (Reminded me of the PGA National at the Belfry, only better) the back 9 was more like an american course, with lots of water.

Over all it's one of the most difficult courses i've played.

My only gripe is again SLOW PLAY not being marshalled. Lots of societies and four balls out for a good time, which is fine, but on the verge of a 5 hour round it's a bit too much.

On the whole i would return here again. At £16 it's amazing value.

(Round played: Sep 2016 - Score: 94 Handicap: 16.7) Very well layout course set in beautiful countryside. Fairway was lush and could do with cutting although considering the overnight storm it was dry.
Wasn't too impressed with the greens , too much grass. Overall a good challenge .

Stayed for a mid week break with four rounds. There are two courses, both different in character. The Hawkstone is more matured and a little more challenging. The championship course is a lot flatter and has a lot of water which I managed to find on a new more of occasions. Really enjoy the set up and would recommend as a great place for a stay and play.

Course was in very good condition, greens were brilliant to putt on and continued my good putting form. Play was a bit slow but a call to the course marshall helped to speed up the society groups in front of us.
