Goldenhill Golf Club
An open rolling parkland course with water featuring on 6 of the back 9 holes. A flat easy walking course with generous fairways and large well bunkered, undulating greens. The 2 feature holes being the 2nd, a short par 4 with many similarities to the 10th at the Belfry and the 14th, a par 3 that can only be described as Stokes version of the 17th at Sawgrass, an island green surrounded by water.Contact Information

Booked a round online for £8.50 for Sunday morning.
First impressions not good as the course is set on a waste tip in the middle of some rough estates.Driving range was in a state of disrepair as was most of the course. Here are some of the problems we encountered:
Surface water over most of the course despite lack of heavy rain (problem with drainage)
No bunker rakes and bunkers overgrown with weeds.
Hand written hole signs (better ones would be stolen?)
Local youths jumping on the course in work boots etc.
Fairways with grass as long as most course's rough.
Greens with grass as long as most course's fairways.
Bare patches on all of the greens.
Piles of waste earth, metal containers etc.
Total lack of any signs of any maintenance.
The only pro I can think of is that some of the holes across the water were fun.
Overall I think you'd have to go some way to find a scruffier, less appealling course to play on.The Course

booked this course online, cost £8.50 each, booked for a sunday thought we'd hit a few balls at its driving range first so set off in the morning with high hopes,
Upon arrival very quiet, went into the clubhouse to pay our money and were told the course was wet (barley rained for a week). We had drove half an hour so thought we would play, driving range was shut and looked like it had been for sometime.
The course was dreadful balls plugging all over the place the green were even worse, the fairway (very loose term) were at least 3 to 4 inches in length, i must say this is the worst place i've ever played golf and would urge you to avoid it because i've never seen a pitch and putt in that bad of state.
if people really want to go i would advise to go when it hasn't reined for at least a month, not totally sure why jack barker has lent his name to this courseThe Course

Initially had my doubts when quoted £12.50 for a Sunday morning tee time and told there is no need to book. Played the 1st to find the green was in very poor condition and bunkers not been raked for weeks. Played the 2nd upto the green, only to find it was in a poorer state than the 1st. Green resembled a bunker, potholes in fairways and boulders everwhere. Everyone agreed to give up and find another course. I've never seen a pitch and putt in a worse state. Course does actually have potential from what I've seen, but even allowing for it's low cost, it is very poor value and actually dangerous in my opinion.

Played the course a couple of times and though the start near the landfill isn't nice it gets better. Some interesting holes and decent value for money.

only opened yesterday 23/05/2008 after having massive ground work done, it will be a cracking course in a couple of years but at the moment is just good for a knock
