The course is good - back 9 quite challenging for the high handicapper though. You have to be on your game to make a score here.
The sixth hole is probably worth the trip on its own!
On the downside, the greens were disappointing - quite a few of them had top sand and/or were a bit bobbly and didnt run true.
We got the round on dailygolfdeals so only paid £12 so good value for money probably.

It was a great start to the day as we had the offer of a haggis sandwich instead of bacon! This was then eclipsed by the superb picture windows in the clubhouse which give a fantastic panoramic view of the coast and the town.
The first 9 holes were uninspiring bar the suberb sixth which has a strange effect on your knees and ability to judge distance when you look down at the crashing waves and rocks between your tee and the green. The greens were tricky and some decisions need to be made on whether to try and cut the corners on a few holes but there was little else to recommend them. The second 9 were slightly better with a bit more feature but again nothing exceptional. Overall the course is too up and down and claustraphobic for my liking. The fairways are narrow and you need to be very accurate if you decide to take any risks. The 6th was great the clubhouse has a real wow factor but the rest was a disappointment.

A must play for links lovers. The sixth, 170 yards, par three over the North Sea is the signature hole. The greens ar ewickedly fast, true and beautifully contoured. Straight driving is a must, as a visit to the rough will mean par score is hard to come by. Loved the red markers on the seventh, the hazard is water but 150ft down a cliff!! Be warned, take plenty of balls!
