What the club says: Dunstable Downs Golf Club provides an interesting challenge for golfers of all abilities. There are 18 holes over 6251 yards par 70. Holes 1 to 10 are parkland in nature; holes 11 to 18 along the top of the Downs are very "links" in nature.

The present layout was planned by James Braid and constructed by J.A. Stutt of Paisley (who also constructed the Championship Course at Carnoustie) in 1930. Originally 6,600 yards, the course today measures 6251 yards and features welcoming fairways requiring an infinite variety of approach shots to score well.

what a great golf course only 6200yds but plays like 7000yds there are five par fours 8,10,11,12,and 16 that compare to any i have ever played, on the downside the greens can be slow but when they get them quick i have never played anywhere better.............john

Very well constructed golf course and is a game of two halves. The bottom section is very interesting and scenic winding through and up a valley while on the top half the wind becomes a major factor and changes your approach to your round. Pro shop team very friendly and shop is well stocked. Facilities very good and had a good meal in clubhouse. The only negative factor of this club is that the membership do not seem to relish "strangers" on their course.....

Very nice course, can be like two different nine hole courses, front nine is parkland and undulating and not much wind but the back nine can be a card wrecker if the wind is blowing. Overall a very good course and a good test.

Situated on the edge of the Chilterns this is a course exposed to the winds! Nevertheless, a good challenge with good greens.

course very good,greens in very good condition. fairways havent been helped by weather. bar & food excellent. changing rooms could be better

Quite a hilly course, and situated on the Downs overlooking Luton, it can get very windy - there's almost always gliders whizzing about over the course! There are some really good holes, and it's quite a challenge from the whites, but still a good test from the yellows. There are a few 'alternate greens' which are used during wet periods and winter months. Buy a course planner - they're only £3 and should help you on the blind tee shots on a couple of holes.
