Played Deer Park today (25th August 2013). Put in simple terms, I will not be back.

The layout was nice and the potential for this course to be very good is there, unfortunately the condition if the course is nothing short of awful. The main problems are as follows: fairways the length of the first cut of rough, both fairways and rough was completely covered in the remains of grass cutting (the worst I have ever seen), sand less bunkers (though containing a number of large stones) and finally very very slow greens. The greenkeepers are not doing a good job!

From my view, this is yet another example of the course playing 2nd fiddle to the number of other things going on with the club attachment; gym etc.

Really not happy that I spent money there, could have played a municipal course in better condition for less than half the price

Course is really bad just now, I wish I had read the previous review before playing this week. They have put in a lot of drainage channels but as a result the front of every green has several lines of gravel/chippings. Lots of soggy areas. Greens were ok. Not very enjoyable. The £18 doesn't do it, I felt I was wasting my time there, you can't play proper approach shots or chip and runs as the channels get in the way. I really suggest you play elsewhere for now. Hopefully by the summer things will be better, but for now you will be wasting your time and money at Deer Park.

Terrible, soggy, un kept course trust me I have just left, if u enjoy having your golf ball plugged on fairways and putt on greens that are like bouncy castles then go ahead, £18 a visitor £13 a guest and £73.50 per month for a member is really not worth it!!!

Course is in good condition, unfortunately, the members play extremely slow and you can be waiting around at every single tee. It spoils the course and I can see them losing members because of it.

Well laid out

A very well laid out course. The front 9 is reasonably flat so easy walking the back 9 is very hilly. The course was very wet when we played in September and the majority of the greens were close to unplayable

Service was poor and slow. Not welcoming on arrival and waited a while on our rolls. Portions were also very small for lunch.

Played during winter. Greens had just been sanded and spiked which was unfortunate so quite impossible to putt on. Found the course quite straight forward and a bit boring. Not much to look at or to get in trouble from after a way word shot. Did not appreciated being forced to play an iron off a tee (instead of a driving wood) due to houses down one side. Not many hazards to catch you out but a few stand out holes kept interest. Have played nicer courses and wouldn't go back to play especially if full green fees asked.

Played here with some friends.

Positive is that all the staff we dealt with were terrific, great service

As for the course it's a bit soulless, maybe I am spoiled by living in fife and being a member of Leven which is a great course, but deer park is a bit bland.

Fairways were in good shape but the greens were very mixed, many were rather muddy and the 10th in particular was a mess and would have been better on a winter green ( still parred it tho!)
