What the club says: Nesting in the foothills of the Southern Pennines, Davenport Golf Club offers a warm and friendly reception to golfers of all ages and abilities. Set on both sides of a quiet country road just outside Poynton, the course measures 6034 yards from the white tees.

Lovely rural setting, varied holes, tricky greens. Holes 7 and 8 closed for maintenance, so played holes 1 and 2 twice.

Nice course, worth playing
Second time playing Davenport GC, this time in an open event. Well organised, friendly welcome. Pre golf food good. Course generally in great condition and a joy to play, a few greens a bit patchy though. A bit of walking to be had between holes especially when crossing the road for the holes on the other side from the clubhouse. A few gentle inclines to negotiate as well. Overall a course certainly worth playing.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 79 Handicap: 5.5)

Great course with friendly staff.
I have played this course quite a few times now and always see it has a test. It is not the longest of courses, but even the short holes are a test.(Round played: Dec 2018 - Score: 93 Handicap: 19)

Excellent Corporate Day
Played here on a corporate day and it was excellent. Course was in amazing condition. I had one of my best rounds with everything dropping so it helped a lot. My advice would be to look at the hole before you get the big stick out, plenty of holes where you can run out of room and some internal OB too. Greens and tees were in tip top condition and ran true.(Round played: Sep 2018 - Score: 79 Handicap: 14.5)

Little gem of a course, must play
First time playing Davenport on TOT offer. Friendly welcome all round, well stocked pro shop, good practice facilities. Course itself is a gem to play, not over long but few holes you need to to think about. In superb condition, greens a little on slow side but true enough. A few inclines here and there but not too taxing. Clubhouse very welcoming for a well earned drink and eats afterwards with a very nice outdoor sitting area overlooking putting green. Overall well worth a visit, Just wished I'd played better but will return for sure to improve on today's round.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 81 Handicap: 6.4)

Wow for winter
Not yet played in summer but if condition of course in winter is anything to go by can't wait. Temp tees but 18 greens open, can't believe how dry course was after the wet winter we have had so far. Really interesting holes, some thought needed with some holes due to their tightness. Would recommend any standard of golfer to try. Great course.
This was one of the best course we have played this year, it was in really good condition. The greens ran true, and the fairways didn't plug, and due to the amount of rain we have had recently, well done to the ground staff.(Round played: Nov 2017 - Score: 86 Handicap: 15.6)

Superb course
Possibly the best course I've played on in wintry conditions. The greens were better than most I've played on all summer long, and it been raining for two days previously. The ground staff need a raise, me thinks. It's a varied and challenging course with lots of different aspects to keep any golfer on their metal. All round, one of my favorite courses to enjoy a fantastic round of golf on. Ps. I broke 80 for the first time (78)(Round played: Nov 2017 - Score: 78 Handicap: 16.6)
