Super course, great value, warm welcome from the Pro.

Visit to Cooden Beach was a great experience. Course in very good condition considering the recent snow and bad weather. Greens looking in great shape. Really testing course and some great views on the East Sussex countryside. Comfortable clubhouse but disappointed with not being able to even get a sandwich from a closed kitchen after 18 holes.

great course

played here on a Golf monthly forum meet and was expecting a true links course so i was surprised to see a links/park/wood hybrid type course.
its a lovely layout with some great holes and the wind certainly made things interesting

Taken me 30 years to play this after being refused entry for no long socks, and has to be said was worth the wait. Super friendly pro and secretary. Net and practise green near the first. Course is more marsh than links, but so many good holes. Very sensible 6,200 off the yellows, great variation in approach clubs required. Well appointed midway bathroom and refreshment facilities. Nice and quiet, very easy walk.
Won't suit the wild longer hitter, every hole is by itself with very serious trouble either side of the fairway. Greens surprisingly soft and slow. Condition not spot on, needs some paths for trolleys and carts. Can hardly see the sea..
Overall seriously under rated on here, easily top 500. Had a good deal on teeofftimes easily worth a 30 to 40 quid green fee.

The course was wet - surprisingly so but we didn't know the terrain or on what ground or that much of the course is below sea level

Fantastic

Course in perfect condition played in perfect conditions. Greens perfect. Maybe slightly slower than expected. Fairways optimum. No wind & a hot sunny day so scoring less challenging.

Gone downhill

Since last playing the course it hasn't faired very well over the winter, course was still water logged & greens not in great shape. It's a shame as it previously was very good & like the course layout. Doesn't help that's it's expensive to play even at twilight.

Wonderful seaside course

Not sure if it strictly qualifies as links but it's right on the Sussex coast & open to the winds. Bordered too by the railway there are some great views down to Beachy Head & inland despite being low lying. Greens were excellent. Fairways best I've played this Spring. When the sun shines & the wind is gentle just idyllic.
